  1. Gahhh. I'm not sure about whether I should do NPSIA or the MPA at Queens.
  2. All it says on statement of standing is "Conditions on Admission Admission conditional upon receipt of official transcript indicating degree(s) conferred with required standing: B. of Social Science, University of Western Ontario"
  3. Got an email this morning too! congrats to everyone who got accepted, and fingers crossed for those who haven't recieved any email. Does anyone know what average/gpa one needs to maintain?
  4. Does anyone know the requirements to maintain admission after acceptance? All it says (only accepted from ottawa/GPSIA) so far to just give them my transcript and proof of graduation upon graduation/completing. I'm not having that bad of a semester. but my 1st semester (84) average was alot better than this one's (76)... I blame my lack of effort/care on having busted my ass the past 3 semesters prior! thanks
  5. I just got accepted into GPSIA (third choice as well)... Same sentiments as Marika
  6. They aren't handing out All the acceptances on the 10th? or even the majority of them? It seemed from past years that Acceptances were granted on a rolling basis from day 1(I guess this year March 10) till Mid- April. With the waitlist acceptances (I assume a small number) gradually rolling in later. But yes, either way, its going to be a long wait. I'll be just happy to get in to any of my 3 choices (NPSIA, GPSIA, Queens MPA)
  7. Thanks for kickstarting this thread everyone. I have a 3.3 GPA (3.4 last 2 years) and like CarletonU am looking at MPA/MPP Programs. I've been doing some research and it seems like. NPSIA- Probably the most difficult program to get into, but the best in terms of one's career prospects with DFAIT GPSIA- New program (2007), understandably not as prestigious as NPSIA, easier to get into (read someone with a 3.2 on these forums was admitted) However I can't seem to find any reports/information on what post-grad has been like compared to NPSIA Munk- Requires a GRE score, I've heard that its more of an academic program, which might be a good idea if you have any plans to do a PHD Balsille School of Global Governance- Like Munk, supposed to be more Academic Laurier- Masters of International Public Policy- Haven't heard much about this program, emailed the department and never recieved a response I have looked into Public Admin/Policy programs, but I am more interested in an international focus/career. Anyone care to share what they know about these programs?
  8. In your situation as well, I posted in the NPSIA thread from last year but still no response
  9. Hey everyone, I've been lurking on these boards for a while trying to find out more information about Grad schools, and specifically Masters in International Affairs programs such as NPSIA, GPSIA and Public Policy programs. I'm going into my final year at UWO, GPA of 3.35gpa (3.4 in 3rd year), am working this summer with the government at hearings & appeals, have volunteered abroad in the past but don't really have any good extracurricular experience in University (clubs & exec position wise) I've heard some positive and not-so positive (the post above) about my chances with NPSIA. I'm assuming ~ 3.4 GPA once again for my 4th year, but I wanted to hear some opinions specific to me. It seems to me that I could get into GPSIA quite realistically, something that I would be really happy with, but I think we all know that NPSIA is still the #1 school for ultimately getting into DFAIT and working abroad. Thanks for reading, any comments and/or application tips would be much appreciated! Sorry if I'm posting in the wrong area btw, I did a few searches and couldent find a more suitable topic (most are american it seems)
