I'm an Americanist with concentrations in public opinion, voting behavior, and some political psychology.

Nothing to report. I understand that they have a reputation of being very late.

Wow! This is my introduction to the label, but I have to say I like it. If I qualify, it will be the first time I can say I'm much of a jock.

Of the places where I've been accepted, only WUSTL and MN have designated visitation days. UIUC has invited me to come, but without an assigned time. IN seems to be slow on this one (accepted over two weeks ago and still waiting on info about the package or even the official acceptance letter).

ampersand, I hear you. My research interests are almost the same, but I also hope to dabble a bit in political psychology as it relates to voting behavior. Barring any additional acceptances, I plan to visit Minnesota, UIUC, and WUSTL. I'd love for some current and prospective students to chime in on what they like and dislike about the American politics subfield at these schools.

I wouldn't worry about it yet. It seems like they treat the subfields very differently. I'm an Americanist. What is your subfield?

I got a call from the graduate director.

I guess that is pretty telling. I will anxiously await that news.

Is anyone planning a visit to UIUC?

I never received that initial email, but I was admitted via email on 1/31. My subfield is American politics with concentrations in survey research and methods. Various professors have emailed. Seems like a great faculty!
