Still haven't heard jack smack from my schools (other than SCAD which is on rolling admissions). Was hoping to hear from VCU as their site says notice of acceptance by Mar. 3 for Vis Com. I guess if I were an outright no I probably would have heard...
-
Its March and I am still waiting to hear back :/ anyone else?
tabbykiki replied to Dechunkis3's topic in Waiting it Out
I've only heard back from one school which has a rolling deadline, so it doesn't really count. The wait has been torture for me. -
Damn! I just don't get why mine is missing and I don't buy the "you'll receive a letter in the mail within 10 days" story. I guess this means I probably didn't get in. :/ It really would be nice to hear back from some of my schools. UGH.

Or, use this link: https://ssb.vcu.edu/proddad/bwskalog.P_DispLoginNon

Same here, interested...

I applied to ND for Digital Media. Not sure about interviews, and you're the only person on here I've seen that has also applied there!
-
Thank you for that quote. I really needed it today.

Thanks llife00 & Coreythegiraffe. Did you notice if either of yours had the info like mine about "Current Program?" I don't remember there being there before when my app status was "complete & ready for review."
-
I just tried it and I'm in, so apparently it's fixed.
-
If any other VCU applicants wouldn't mind sharing what their app status and stuff says after login, and if they have had an interview or not, I'd appreciate it.
-
Yeah, it almost seems different. Here's a screenshot of what I have. I don't remember the "Current Program" info being on there and the "App Status" line is completely gone. I'm really not hopeful considering she said decisions are sent via USPS. If you look at the results submissions, almost all acceptances are done via email. I'm bummed. That's an understatement of course.

An update for any of you that have noticed your VCU app status "complete and ready for review" has now been removed and no app status is listed... I called the number for the grad school and they told me this means that a decision has been rendered, but the online system doesn't say what that decision is. She said once the decision has been rendered, applicants will be notified via USPS mail within one week to a week and a half. Hope this helps anyone that was questioning this change.

Agreed! Sounds like a wonderful opportunity for the right person

Forgot to mention I was told directly by a prof on adcom & in the program via email: "We generally take between 4 - 10 students each fall..." So, may not be as low as 6, may be less. Okay, so this wasn't very helpful but thought I'd mention it
-
Thx so much! Have you noticed the app status "ready for review" gone in the VCU eservices login?
-
I am so confused... Logged into the VCU app status page, and the line that is there saying something about the applications status being "complete and ready to review" is completely gone. There isn't even a mention of the app status. I logged to review my portfolio and all of the items are out of order like others have mentioned previously.

Congrats Saudamini!
-
Mustafa- how did your interview with VCU go? What types of questions did they ask?
-
supaslim - right there with you. Nothing but silence from 7 of my schools. The one acceptance I got was from SCAD and they accept on a rolling basis, so it doesn't really count. The silence is deafening at times, and I find myself rethinking my decision to apply and put myself out there. I just want to hear SOMETHING.
-
AGREED, 100%. It's hard to see others get accepted / interviews to the same programs I applied to when I haven't heard anything. It's too easy to read possible conclusions into it. Think I'm going to have to take a break from reading on here for my sanity.
-
Congrats to whomever got into VCU for Vis Com (as per the results database).

I almost feel excited as I seen my Virginia Tech application status move from "Acknowledged" to "Received." Not sure what that means because in the little help box "Received" isn't one of the statuses available. So, no news. Damn. I really need to find something to do with my time besides pondering the possibilities. Like get a 2nd job or something. This is worse than waiting for the impending birth of a child.

What is the general rule of thumb with regards to interviews? Some programs do and some don't? Are there any programs that interview some and not others - but accept people they haven't interviewed? Curious about this in particular to VCU, UCF & George Mason's interview policy so to speak.
-
No kidding, just want to hear SOMETHING...
-
Curious about this as well, in particular in regards to your VCU interview. Who interviewed you, and what particulars did you discuss?
