zizek!85 -- will you be working on your psychoanalysis certification while doing the MSW? i was deciding for a while between getting a master's in psychoanalysis and an MSW. i went for the MSW, knowing I could work towards my certification post graduation. I'm curious to know how you're liking it, where it is that you're studying, and why did you decide to get the MSW in addition? i'm sorry to bombard you with all these questions, i haven't had anyone to ask!

congratulations!!!! i also just found out that i got into NYU!! for those still waiting: i never got an email or anything but when i logged onto the site, i saw a link all the way at the bottom saying that my application status was available online, even though application status at the top still said 'complete and sent for review'. hope this helps!

i submitted my application to nyu on the 1st of october and according to the site, it was complete and sent for review on the 4th. i haven't heard from them yet. memoose - i hear you on the $$. i have no idea how i'm going to pay for it yet! zizek!85 - have you heard from nyu/or columbia? when did you submit yours? thanks!

I only applied to NYU and I'm supposed to hear within a week or two. I'm nervous because this is a career change for me. Aside from volunteer work with an indigenous community in the amazon for a little over year, my background lies primarily in advertising/people management/HR. Was Hunter the only school you applied to? I'm holding my fingers crossed for you!

hopefully you'll hear back soon! i've read on this blog that people have waited way longer than expected and still got in. do you have a lot of direct experience? i really wanted to apply to hunter but they were so clear about not bothering for the accelerated spring program unless you had ample experience in the field. i didn't have much so i figured i wouldn't bother. i'm curious about others who did apply though!

I only applied to NYU for Spring 2014. There aren't too many options for a spring start. If I don't get it, I'm looking to apply to Hunter and USC for Fall 2014.

Yes! Applied to NYU for the 16-month accelerated. Really wanted to apply to Hunter but they pretty much told me that unless I had a lot of experience, I shouldn't bother with their accelerated program. Bummed about that. Where are you guys applying to?

Has anyone applied to the 16-month accelerated program at NYU? Did you have a lot of experience in the field before applying? Thanks!
