late to the thread but im planning on: UNC Penn State UT Austin Ohio State Princeton Rice

Has anyone heard any buzz about Rice? I'm strongly thinking about applying (looks like GREAT faculty) but I'm not sure what life as a grad student there would be like. A prof at my school said to go for it but what do you think?
