  1. AHH!! Congrats! I got waitlisted, please let them know your decision as soon as you can so it will open up spots for the waitlists!! The wait is brutal lol... Thank you <3
  2. Yes! Anyone else hear back from Loma?
  3. I received an email yesterday. I was placed on the alternate list. I'm not sure if that's the same thing as a wait list. Hell, better than a rejection. Trying to remain positive during this brutal waiting game.
  4. same! it was very strange compared to other interviews. I don't know how they would really get to know us by that type of an interview, besides communication skills. do you know how (email/mail/phone) and when do we hear back!?
  5. How did everyone's interview go!?
  6. Any advice for Loma Linda Interviews??? They are coming up this friday! There is a writing portion as well included.
  7. That's not always necessary! I am currently in my clinical practicum (not always offered in undergrad programs), and I am committed to my patients/clients in the field of speech pathology. Just because I can't fly out, doesn't mean I am not committed to the program. If you have classes to attend as well, it doesn't look bad. It shows you are committed to your coursework, which is what a faculty member actually told me. Good luck to all of us on the journey through the waiting process!!
  8. also i wasnt asking about skipping, i was asking about HOW MANY they interview...just to see our chances. Ya know ?
  9. they offered me a skype interview lol
  10. does anyone know how many applicants they interview!? i got one here and i am curious to see how much of a decision they will be making with these interviews.
  11. when did you submit your app and hear from MWU?
  12. Can you give us an example of how you made your personality shine through your email communications?
  13. I am considering public health as a back up plan as well! Of course, speech pathology is where my heart is, but continuing my education is also what I really would like to do, and I want something to fall back on. I’d love to hear opinions about my plan B as well. Could I possibly incorporate topics that involve speech pathology/early intervention in the public health field? I am new to it, I’ve researched it, and it seems extremely diverse, but vague! What's the job outlook or positions with a masters in public health? I heard people in the public health field make well over 100k a year.
  14. have you applied to grad school before, or will you be this fall? Nice to always have a fellow native speaker
  15. Do you know which Cali grad schools will be most likely to accept non-California residents? Thanks!
  16. thank you for responding ever so quickly! I appreciate your response. Do you recommend any Illinois/Indiana schools I should apply to that consider a well rounded applicant?
  17. Hello everyone, I am new to this forum, so I apologize in advance if I am posting this in the wrong forum. I have a list of about 7-12 schools that I would like to apply to (I’m from the Indiana and Illinois area). I constantly keep hearing about people who applied 10-12 places, and didn't get in! I currently am finishing up my undergrad in CSD w clinical experience. My overall GPA is around 3.4-3.5 and in CSD. I’m not sure what my CSDCAS GPA is since applications don’t open until Sept. Unfortunately, I haven’t taken my GRE yet since I feel super underprepared. I will be taking it in the fall around Oct. I am more worried about quant, than I am verbal/writing. Currently using Manhattan Prep, ETS, and magoosh to prepare for it. With my low GPA, and a decent SOP, I’m hoping my experience outside of grades will help. My grades aren’t top notch and it worries me. Also, I plan on working/volunteering with an SLP this fall, and possibly presenting with her at an event as well. Bilingual: English/Arabic Also, my backup plan is to get a Master’s in Public Health. Thank you!!!!!!
