Oh great. I'm high 80th in verbal. Glad to hear that, I was worried since I had heard so much about 90th percentile marks.

I'm honestly worried more than anything about my GRE scores affecting my shots at a PhD program. Is this worry justified or should I try to shut down that particular part of my neuroticism?

I've applied to 16 schools and have implied rejections from 2. NYU and Pitt are both supposed to notify within the next week... My nerves are totally set on edge. Trying hard not to think about what happens if I go 0/16.

On the topic of Northwestern.. They were one of the few schools I applied to that seemed fairly committed to diversity. How much difference does that make in the application process? I can see on the stats that some years, 90% of the students they accept are white. How does being Hispanic affect or not affect my chances? Does it really matter at all? Sorry, I realize this is a weird question. I'm still just trying to convince myself that someone will want me for some reason haha

Did you have a Film focus in undergrad? Regardless, I wouldn't count anything out just yet. If qualifications really are secondary, then I'm sure the variety of your interests would stand out to an adcomm as well.

Don't be so down about Berkeley! I know you wouldn't have applied if you didn't think you had some kind of shot, and I'm sure you DO have a decent shot. Head up!

I'm feeling like I should have applied through the 100s as well. I stopped somewhere in the sixties and am having huge regrets right about now.

Hey guys! Okay, so I'm freaking out just a little bit. I'm done with almost all of my applications, but there is one aspect of my apps that I'm a little worried about. When I was in high school, I took a class at my local community college to earn an English credit; it was an online class, and I was 15 years old. Needless to say, I lost track of deadlines, missed one, and failed the class. This is still listed on the transcript for that community college, and I am worried that a failed English class will absolutely ruin my chances. However, my advising prof has told me multiple times not to worry - my current overall GPA is 3.94 at a huge state university, and my major GPA is a 4.0. Can I get an idea of whether or not I should worry about it at all? Thanks, I seriously appreciate it.
