  1. Fuck yeah. This is an awesome post.
  2. I've got 10 left as well. Crossing my fingers extra hard for the both of us.
  3. Well cheers to your first acceptance, congratulations
  4. That's so exciting, congratulations!!!
  5. It seems that way haha
  6. Well I like that quite a lot. Awesome.
  7. Mikers, we have a lot of programs in common. Just thought I would point this out and tell you that you have impeccable taste.
  8. I wasn't aware they did that.. I wish that was the case with me. When did you get that email?
  9. Thanks for this. I've been in Texas my whole life. Currently a TAMU student (we can be friends, promise), but I love Austin. I can't imagine many places I would rather live, so I'm glad to hear that they spread out admissions and I don't have to freak out over the first thing that comes up on the boards. Also, Texas does waitlisting, don't they?
  10. I definitely do have a backup plan. I'm applying to Villanova's MA this week just in case (six rejections have me looking everywhere for options haha). Thank you for your confidence! I'm not so sure this year is my year.. For some reason I still have doubts about my writing sample, even though I've had two professors read it and put a stamp of approval on it after several rounds of corrections. I also failed an English class at a community college, but that was five years ago and I was 15 (my professors assured me this would not keep me out of anywhere. My undergrad GPA is 3.96 and English GPA was 4.0). Syracuse didn't ask for that transcript, thank God. I'm sure your super supportive department is right and you won't need the job they've offered you I spent last summer in the UK and loved it. If I could afford their MA programs, I would go so quickly. Funding is terrible there, though.
  11. Kamisha, we're in the same boat. 4 straight up rejections, 2 more implied. 10 to go, and I'm not confident about any of them. I also bombed the subject test, but I've heard several people have gotten in and bombed it even worse than I did. Seems like more of a formality than anything... People seem to do better on it after getting an MA. I know the classes I took as an undergrad were my choice, so I didn't know anything about Medieval anything. Oh well.
  12. Oh yes, Santa Barbara. My only existing California prospect.. That would be insanely awesome.
  13. How sweet I predict the same for you. I'm sure you'll ace the interview at Baylor. I've been there, and they have a beautiful campus. I'm sure you'll fit right in.
  14. And adding UT to that, I'm either going to have a VERY rough week or (God forbid), I will actually be accepted somewhere. Crossing my fingers for both of us; actually, I'm considering gluing them that way since they're there 24/7 these days anyway.
  15. We also seem to think alike! We have Washington, Boulder, Chicago, and Brown in common.
  16. Yes! There's a bunch of financial info on that page now.. Sheesh. I hope they do notify soon but I don't know if I can handle that rejection. That's one of my better shots, I think, and I would hate to see it crossed off my list.
  17. I see someone just got accepted at Texas A&M! I'm wrapping up my undergrad there, so feel free to shoot me a message if you have any questions. Congratulations!
  18. I agree. If you've already emailed several times, they know your position and don't seem to be concerned, so you shouldn't be. I think it'll all turn out okay, in complete honesty.
  19. Also still waiting on Chicago, but that should be coming soon... Ah okay. Couldn't remember off the top of my head if Boulder notified in March. Two rounds of acceptances sounds like total hell.. I get to watch everyone else get accepted and then wait a month? Cool.
  20. It's UW-Seattle! Them, Syracuse, and if I remember correctly, Boulder, should be my last notifications, and they're the ones I'm hoping work out (mostly because everywhere else I applied to is pretty insanely prestigious: regret). How many schools are you waiting to hear back from now? I've still got 11, so I'm trying to keep my head up. I'm sure you'll be fine too, so don't jump head-first into that creek just yet!
  21. Shortstack, this is about where I am, too. It's going to be a long month coming up, especially since some of the schools I think I have the best chance at don't notify til mid-march. I've started to look at funded MA programs with deadlines in March just in case.
  22. Awh thank you! That's very sweet. I will make it my personal goal to will you into a school as well, though I'm sure it's not necessary
  23. Based on previous years, UT Austin should be notifying this week... Crap. I'm not ready for that just yet.
  24. That's great news. Thanks so much! Eases my nerves some.
