  1. Hi! I applied middle of November and received the offer first week of January. good luck!
  2. You wanted commentary regarding the language competitiveness, so I gave you a commentary. But seriously, relax. You'll get in somewhere with your stats as long as you make a good case on the SOP.
  3. Have you thought about the fact you are also competing against people like me who grew up in Taiwan/China, thus fluent in Chinese and a local dialect, but also have mastered a romance language like French or Spanish? Not to mention international applicants from China/Taiwan, who obviously have a great level of Chinese and English. This is not to say you don't have a chance at all since you do have a very good background, but I'd agree that WE is important to set you apart. I'm afraid solely relying on the Chinese language ability isn't enough.
  4. I got into University College London for MSc in Intl Public Policy and I'm still waiting on Sciences Po Paris, not the MPA but the regular masters in economics and public policy. I did apply to SIPA and also IR at Yale & SAIS. But I'm pretty sure for the dual degree transfer, you can apply sometime during your first year. What about you? where else are you waiting for?
  5. I got in as well, with some financial aid via GSS. What track are you? International development for me. I've heard good things about the MPA at LSE. Pretty much any school in the GPPN are pretty good choices, depending on what region of the world you hope to base in. I'm still waiting for a few more decisions before I decide though.

  7. Hi all! I've recently submitted all of my applications to the following programs: University College London - MSc International Public Policy (accepted! love the rolling admission of European schools. just a personal email from dept chair, still waiting for the official letter, but I think that counts!) London School of Economics - MPA International Development Sciences Po Paris - Masters in Economics and Public Policy (EPP) MA International Relations at Yale, SIPA and SAIS Looking for opinions on the above program. I know lots have been said about Yale/SIPA/SAIS, but I am looking for a comparison between those three schools and the European programs that I listed. I am looking for an international career (ie not limited to a certain country), and since I did undergrad in the US, I thought an European perspective would be nice. Any thoughts welcomed! Even better if you've done the programs and can give some feedback! Thanks!
  8. Hello! I've submitted my applications for LSE and UCL. I didn't need to really explain anything other than submit what they asked for. I think all, if not most, admissions in the UK know the American standards pretty well. I've already received an unofficial acceptance email from a department chair at UCL without asking further explanation of my application! Gotta love the European rolling admission! best of luck to you! Wendy
  9. Hi all! I was working on my applications last night and realized that Geneva HEI requires a good portion of the application in hard copy, and since I am in Africa with the Peace Corps, that makes the process that much harder. I've decided to scratch that program and was looking into others. Unfortunately, Paris School of Economics is the same way... Anyway, wanted to see if anyone has had any experiences or heard anything with the following programs in Europe: University College London - Masters in International Public Policy Science Po - Masters in Economics and Public Policy LSE - Masters in Public Administration (International Development) I'm also applying to the following programs in the US, but for some reason I have a real affinity with European schools. Columbia SIPA Johns Hopkins SAIS (1st year in Bologna) Yale MA-IR Thanks! Wendy
  10. Hi, you may want to check out the discussion under Government Affairs within Professional Programs. Programs in international affairs may be of interest to you - many have specializations in development economics.
  11. I am SO glad this forum exists!
