  1. Honestly, it varies from place to place. I've had schools send offers the day after, send offers before the next interview, send offers to only top picks and wait until the rest of interview weekends are done, and extend no offers until all the interview weekends are done. It's a wide spectrum. If you're anxious, you could call/e-mail the director.
  2. I think it depends. If you're holding out to hear back from a school you interviewed with and is one of your top picks, you may want to wait a bit. I know there must be a huge sense of relief once you officially confirm where you're going to be in the Fall, but for me, I will probably take all the time I have to make a decision. It just feels very daunting making such a big decision, and I want to consider all aspects. In my case specifically, I have already confirmed interviews for March, so I need a couple more weeks. However, if you already know where you want to go and are aware that you won't likely change your mind, go for it!
  3. I'm not condoning it, but at least there's some monetary incentive. And there's no consequence if you wait until the 15th to decide. Also, that agreement is recommended, and not everyone abides by it. One of the schools I just interviewed at wants me to decide by the end of the month, roughly two weeks to accept. With that said, I haven't seen the monetary incentive offered elsewhere.
  4. I'm going on my 7th next week, and I completely feel you on the exhaustion part. On that note, I, personally, would still go because you really never know if one of these programs is going to completely surprise you upon visiting, good or bad. That happened to me basically every interview I've been on. Also, I've heard many, many good things about Wisconsin Madison.
  5. How did she/he get 2 offers from the same program? And yeah, that seems likely to be the case .
  6. E-mailing them pretty much gets you nowhere. I would call them. *I e-mailed them before and was told my e-mail was forwarded to someone else (the person handling the disciplines I indicated?). She never e-mailed me back, so I called. I told her my e-mail was supposed to be forwarded to her, but she said she never received it. I told her I'd just e-mail her again directly. She didn't get back to me, but a faculty member called me and extended an interview offer.
  7. Thanks! I just got an unofficial acceptance, too! Guess I was getting too antsy, but I'm ecstatic!
  8. If you don't mind me asking, which WashU interview weekend did you attend? Was the notification by phone or e-mail?
  9. I applied to two different programs and was accepted to both. I don't think it's an issue. Different programs can have vast differences in curriculum, requirements, and faculty.
  10. I was there, too, but haven't heard back yet. Hopefully something in the next few days? They did say 7-10 days.
  11. In my opinion, I would not wear jeans. I've been on 4 so far, and I've only seen one person wear jeans and she seemed to feel visibly embarrassed by her attire. If it's cold, you can wear tights under your slacks. Also, hard, hard pass on the heels. Just don't do it. I wore heeled boots to my first interview because I didn't have time to hem my pants (I know, horrible idea), and it was not worth it. Go to Payless, Walmart, Target, whatever to find sensible interview shoes. With that said, I don't think that the interviewers care too much about what shoes you're wearing and maybe not even what clothes you're wearing, but if everyone else shows up professionally dressed and you're in jeans, you could feel uncomfortable. If it's really bad, you could carry a spare pair of comfortable shoes and switch right before the interview.
  12. UCLA ACCESS had one interview weekend last Friday and they have one more around Feb. Friday and Saturday, January 24 & 25, 2014* Sunday and Monday, February 9 & 10, 2014* USC PIBBS has one today for this weekend and I think they also have a February date, but I'm not sure exactly. I'm not sure if they're still reviewing/sending out applications, but I actually didn't get any flight information until two days ago, so last minute arrangements are possible. For those of you still waiting on UVa BIMS, don't lose hope! I just got called for an interview . I think they're just going very, very slowly.
  13. Are you interviewing for UVA - BIMS? If you don't mind me asking, which discipline areas did you indicate?
  14. I would definitely make the call. You'll get a much faster response.
  15. I e-mailed admissions asking if all interview invites have been sent out and if not, when the interview dates were. She said she forwarded my e-mail to Pam Mullinex who would get back to me about my application status. I know someone said that there were 130 apps for 8 spots, and I saw recently that someone posted an acceptance. I'm not sure if that was a mistake or not. Hopefully, we'll hear more soon.
