  1. Congrats Cabinet282! I applied to Stanford and am trying to patiently wait for news from them... hoping it's an admit or waitlist too! May I ask what your subfield is? It's such a small, but amazing department. Thanks! To ahhopeful- what's your subfield... mine is modern/contemporary.
  2. Thanks! Yep, i went ahead and called the department, and they have no problem with 1.5 spacing. I also am only using the sources from the sections I ended up using. I think it's actually shaping up nicely.
  3. Thanks for the responses. I've thoroughly researched a lot of their work and the programs, so I don't really have questions about that. I also don't want to seem like I didn't research them. I like the idea of sending them little updates. I have a phone call with one of them this week. I hope I don't get nervous and blabber too much :/
  4. So, I've contacted a few prospective professors in my field (art history) and introduced myself and my current work. They have been kind enough to respond back and are willing to talk more about their program. What types of questions should I be asking them? Any input would greatly help
  5. i am including my intro, so they get a scope, and a chapter from my honors thesis and footnotes as well as images for these sections. to tack on to this topic- if you're doing an excerpt, do you include just the bibliography for that section? or the entire bibliography? also, if the school doesn't specify, is it ok to use 1.5 spacing? i am using 1" margins and 12 pt font
  6. I took my GRE's twice. The second time i got 610V and 580Q with 4 on the analytical (i got 4.5 the first time). I'd like to hear what other applicants who got in or are going to apply are scoring. Any advice? What's the average scores for other applicants applying to top 20 schools? Did I forget to mention, how much the GREs SUCK!!!!
