  1. Did they email you or did you just happen to check your portal and voila! acceptance?
  2. That's so wonderful! I submitted my online app on Jan. 20, I think. My paper statement and recommendation forms arrived around the 24th. Here's hoping!
  3. So sorry about your rejection, smartypants14. Keep your head up! Out of curiosity, how did they inform you of their decision? Via email?
  4. I would definitely (if you can afford to do so) put down the deposit as a safety net because most CA schools don't let us know until April (SJSU for example didn't tell us until April 15/16 last year). I had to do the same last year in applying to Postbacc programs and couldn't get mine back but it was worth it for the peace of mind. Congrats on your first acceptance though! I'm soooo anxious over here!
  5. OMG How did you find out so early? I applied to UT Dallas but their app isn't technically due until February 15th! Congratulations to you!!!
  6. Also, ignore the wonky numbers. I just copy-pasted it from something else ALSO also----there are certainly a ton of places in the midwest you can look into, I just am not applying to them
  7. Here are the schools I'm applying to! (It's a ton, but I'm making it worthwhile this time around...) I'd check their websites to see if whatever Postbacc program you'll be in offers the same pre-requisites, but in my experience, these schools are okay with you having them done by the time of matriculation. If you have a few done by the end of the Fall term, you'll just show your grades from those courses and update them with the courses that will be in progress. Let me know if you have any additional questions! --Danielle California State University, Chico 2) CSU, East Bay 3) CSU, Los Angeles 4) CSU, Northridge CSU, Fresno 7) University of Texas at Dallas 1) San Jose State University (CSDCAS) 2) Northern Arizona University (CSDCAS) 3) Portland State University (CSDCAS) 2) University of Texas at Austin 3) University of Massachusetts, Amherst 4) Arizona State University 5) Northeastern 6) University of New Mexico 7) Western Washington ? 8. I'm currently finishing up my Postbacc program (it ends in August 2014) and am in the process of applying to grad schools for next fall (August/September 2014). I'm not taking a gap year because I already did so in applying to schools/postbacc programs last year (Got my B.A. in June 2012, worked, applied, worked some more, then started the Postbacc). Depending on the school/program, you're able to apply without having completed ALL of the pre-reqs as long as you will satisfy all or most of them by the time you matriculate into their program. I can give you a list of schools that I'm applying to that have this policy. If you do decide to take a gap year, I know people typically find a job (in-field or a related field) to gain experience to boost your resume. Most schools want to see that you've gotten some exposure to the field to ensure you know what you're getting into. A job plus some sort of volunteer experience would be the best way (in my opinion) to fill that time if you decide that's what you want to do. Good luck!
  9. NYU has an excellent program and has about a 28-30% acceptance rate (very good considering how selective these schools can be). Selectivity doesn't necessarily correlate with quality, so NYU is still quite a good program. Only problem? SOOO expensive. I got in last year without having taken pre-requisites but had to turn it down due to money.
  10. Hi all, I'm finishing up my application to UTexas Austin and have reached a question on the Applicant Pre-requisite survey that I'm unsure of how to answer... Here it is....does this refer to academic hours completed (as in...3 semester credit hours or the number of hours you've spent actually observing within each of these subjects?) Any thoughts??? How many supervised hours have you completed in the following areas? Observation Child Language Child Speech Adult Language Adult Speech Audiology Total
