  1. I also have conflicting interviews. I have UBC and UNC the same weekend. I haven't decidedc between the two yet, but am leaning towards UNC. I think you just have to prioritize the schools, and put your best foot forward at the higher priority school. Or at least that's what I'm doing. Are you in Quant?
  2. Hey I got an interview for the quant program there too! We should chat! I think quant programs are really quick because they have fewer people applying. Such is the life of math-minded psychology people I suppose. I've also heard from Ohio State and University of BC. Where else did you apply?
  3. Hi Everyone! I'm applying to quantitative psychology programs for Fall 2014. I had 6 schools on my list, all of the applications but 1 were due December 1st - 5th. I've already heard back from one of my top schools and been "soft accepted" which essentially means they still need department approval, but in his email my POI said "there is essentially no chance this recommendation will be not be acted upon favorably." So I still have one application due on January 6th, and I'm wondering if I should even submit it. It's already done, all my materials are sent, I just need to press the submit button and pay the $80 to be considered. This school has always been one of my "safety schools" but what if I go and really love it? I feel like there is so much to learn from interviews about social fit in your program that I might be passing up on a big opportunity. What do you guys think?
  4. Hi All! This is my first time posting on Grad Cafe, but all the grad students where I work told me it's probably a good idea for connecting to people and figuring out where in the process other people are. I applied to Quantitative Psychology programs, and so far I've heard back from a few. I'm struggling because I've already got a soft acceptance from one of my top schools, and trying to decide if it's worth it to submit my application to another school which is due January 6th. I'm worried something might happen to my soft acceptance and I'm going to need the safety school, but how realistic is it that they change their mind after contacting you? UCLA - Applied Arizona State - Applied UBC - Interview Invite UNC Chapel Hill - Interview Invite Ohio State - "Soft acceptance" <-- what does that even mean? Thanks for any advice you have!
