  1. Officially attending University of Chicago (Integrative/Social Neuroscience through the psych. department), and working with John Cacioppo!
  2. Haha, I know. I just like trying to put faces and names to these forum aliases.
  3. Well, Irvine is ranked higher in about every category, at least as of 2010: https://chronicle.com/article/NRC-Rankings-Overview-/124747/ . But like you mentioned, that may change dramatically with the recent acquisition from UCLA, and those rankings aren't particularly up to date in the first place. Hi NeuroGirl, I am currently making a decision between Vanderbilt NGP and U of Chicago psychology/integrative neuroscience. What swayed you to Vanderbilt in the end? I'm Elliot btw, I'm sure we probably met.
  4. I haven't received word yet either from UCLA and was at the earlier date along with emguth. With that many yet to hear, surely more acceptances are still on the way! Imitosis, can I ask what your name is? I'm sure I must've met you if you were at Vanderbilt as well. I'm Elliot, btw.
  5. Thanks! John Cacioppo--he actually emailed me personally; I'm still a bit flabbergasted. The interview dates are Feb. 15-17.
  6. I have not. I did call them though, and they said most interview invites had been sent out, 55 out of 250 applicants, and that in the next week or so they would come out with official decisions. Has anybody heard from University of Oregon? I just heard tonight from U of Chicago Integrative Neuroscience!
  7. Congrats NeuroGirl and emguth! I'll see you there as well!
  8. Does anyone think it would be wise to try emailing a few more professors at this point, introducing yourself and expressing interest in their research and what not, or is this kind of late in the game to? imitosis: did you apply to Vanderbilt for IGP, and did they say anything about dates to respond by?
  9. Thanks. It's actually the behavioral and social neuroscience program, with CNS as a subtrack (as opposed to the social sciences track). I'm assuming CNS it's own broader track as well? Which did you apply to? Caltech is actually my top choice, but it sounds extremely competitive, with only 12 faculty total in the behavioral and social program. I got mine on Saturday the 14th. It was for the Feb. 8-10 interview session. I couldn't find a list of all their interview dates, but it sounds like there are multiple. Nope, they didn't specify any specific deadline to rsvp, so I'd bet there are still more to be sent for later interview dates. Best of luck!
  10. Hi all, excited to join the forum! I'm a senior undergrad from IU Bloomington, applying to a mix of cognitive/social/computational programs. Saw somebody applying to IU--let me know if you have any questions. Good luck to all!
