SocialShawn got a reaction from Leah_N in Canadian Universities MSW. The waiting game 2014 admissions

I think I read a while back that you were interested in putting together a Facebook group for new MSW students entering UofT? Are you still interested in doing that or have you already done so?

Congrats to everyone who has been accepted!!!!!!
Good luck to those who have yet to hear back, as well as to those who have been waitlisted and/or didn't get accepted. My first outright MSW rejection from York (two years ago) was very hurtful, so I have an idea of how difficult that can be. The post-degree BSW that I am currently finishing up (at York University) has made the world of difference for me and I'm glad that I had the opportunity to take it, while gaining more experience in the field!
Where there is a will, there is a way! It takes a lot of strength to get back out there and build so that you can try again! Stay strong!!!
As a side note... I have yet to receive my package in the mail (starting to develop ill feelings towards Canada Post lol).

Me too! I've re-read Angela's email a million times and I keep looking at the home page in ROSI - I took a screenshot of it LOL!

Hi Smpalesh,
Applying for such a competitive program can provoke all kinds of anxieties and stress, I can understand that first hand and have witnessed it just by reading though last year's grad forum thread. A 3.7 (aka an A-) is a great GPA though and your volunteer experience also sounds pretty great! Paid experience is not a requirement for admissions. It sounds like you have a strong application.
