  1. Hey Mostafa, did you take your final decision? I also wanted to ask you if you've heard back from Vtech or not yet bcz personally I haven't?!
  2. Oh Man! The third one! but what about the remaining schools u've applied to? or already lost hope in receiving a funded offer? Btw I remember reading somewhere that CMU is expensive no?
  3. Oh Congrats man! but TAMU is one of the cheapest no? Anw keep us updated on ur decision and enjoy the ending of this process!
  4. That's so awkward man! what did it turn out to be at the end? I have applied to TAMU but haven't heard back from them yet, so I am not optimistic about the results. I guess even if I was admitted it will be w/out funding
  5. Mostafa, I contacted VTech last week and they informed me that they are finalizing their decisions and we should hear back very soon. I guess the problem with most of the schools this year is that they haven't heard back on their projects proposals, they basically they can't figure out how many students they can take in! It is known that finding in SE is decreasing year after year.
  6. LoooL @ TAMU! like seriously?! End of April?! somebody should let them know that the majority of the students have to reply to their offers by April 15! I thought they have a good program and they should be targeting high caliber students! well, I am not sue anymore...
  7. That's really awkward! btw who did you contact? I thought the program coordinator at TAMU is a female: Laura Byrd. I just contacted her yesterday concerning the results and that's her reply" "We have received your request for the status of your application. The reviewers are hard at work evaluating the hundreds of applications received along with their regular duties of teaching, grading, etc. All decisions will be posted on your AIS webpage as soon as they are determined" Anw good luck man, results seems to be late this year since the fund is decreasing in structural engineering!
  8. I was at the airport waiting for my flight when I got the e-mail =D
  9. No nothing official yet!
  10. it is weird, since we have seen some acceptance on the results page. You haven't received any e-mail yet from all the 14 schools you applied to?
  11. so any results so far guys?
  12. Hey you, I guess my profile isn't that strong too. Just wondering why all the unis you applied to are in Cali? and I thought all unis in there have an earl deadline, btw what is your undergrad institution?
  13. you mean you wish you have a chosen a different path? other than the PhD? Btw what you gonna do once you're done with?
  14. Hello There! I am also an international student completing my MS in my home country and applied for PhD for Fall 2014 in US. Why your GRE score are in the old Format? I mean why didn't you retake it now for the PhD application to improve as you are saying you have a low score? Did you finish applying? How many school did you apply to? which ones? Btw, my advisor have told me once that US universities don't trust much the research experience outside of the US ;/
  15. Quoted from last year since this was helpful for many students. "We all know how stressful and tough it is for applying to grad school. So let's support each other throughout the applying process!! Any structural applicant out there?? Where you planning to apply/have applied? What are your stats in terms of GPA, GRE scores, research experience, papers, contacts with professors?" You might also add anything that surprised you so far? Like personally I am surprised how much I check Thegradecafe and the status of my applications even though I know that nothing will come out before February! So share your stats and experience guys!
