I'm not usually vocal on this page, but I can't stand not knowing anything. The worst part is that I'm nervous because I haven't heard news about other countries either. I asked my contact here at my university and he is pretty much useless. I know another person on this forum applied to Panama. Stranger, do you have any news?! "Why is Fulbright toying with our emotions?!" Is Fulbright even real? At this point, I'm starting to think it's all a lie! ahhhhhh

I've been bad at posting on the forum, but I'm glad to have this support system. Despite being recommended or not, we have put in a lot of effort to apply and that will show in future projects. I was recommended for a research grant to Panama. If the Fulbright Gods award me a grant, I'll be sure to email my essays to anyone who wants to see them. If I don't get awarded, I plan to apply next year! I want a grant to my name! Let's try to not go crazy in the final round.

Thanks for the tip! Fixed it right away. I have to go to a deparment dinner Friday If I receive the notification during the dinner, I am going to freak!

I think quals are the same. I'm in my second yr ph.d and need to take my comprehensive exams before I am ABD. In my case, two for my major, three for my minors. Honestly, I've been having stress dreams about both. I hate studying for my exams not knowing if I will be funded in a couple months for research. I'm going to take everyone's advice and just check the previous spreadsheets made on the forum.

I just came across this forum and can't believe it exists. I'm in a grad school in Texas and applied for a research grant to Panama in history and haven't heard back yet. I should be studying for my comprehensive exams in April, but I keep having stress dreams about Fulbright notifications. Did anyone else apply to Panama or another country in Central America? I'm curious as to whether anyone has been notified about the first stage.
