For those rejected from UC Davis microbio PhD, what was the reason? I received an email directing me to the website and the specific reason, after the general letter stuff that most people get, was that I Was not as competitive as other applicants on the basis of recommendation letters. I'm not sure how to take this...any thoughts?

Anyone here apply to Yale Epidemiology of Microbial Diseases PhD program? If so, have you heard anything? Supposedly we should be notified this week if we are invited for an interview but it appears there is nothing on this site regarding any activity. Of course not everyone is on here and posting but I'm anxious and wondering.

Yes, vector borne diseases and vector biology/ecology. I emailed them and I am a reject too :-( Not much hope now for school. Please do let me know about UTMB though. Good luck to you!

I'm sorry. I sent an email today so I'm waiting for my unofficial rejection now. I see you applied to UTMB. I was thinking of applying there but wasn't sure I could spend 4-6 years in Galveston. good luck on your interview and please let me know what you think of the school and people you meet. Maybe I'll apply there next year.

Read in the results listings that CO State MIP had sent out invites on Jan 14. Anyone get an official rejection yet or have more information? I was hopeful since I'm in-state but now not so much. That makes two assumed rejections, Yale is assumed too, probably Montana as well :-( Too bad. Now what to do....

Anyone else on here apply to U Montana DBS/Micro with hopes of getting in to the NIH GPP?

Thanks for the info and positive thoughts but I might have to consider this my first rejection. I just wish they would send out rejections early rather than make us wait for the inevitable.

Nope, unfortunately nothing yet. They said they are reviewing in January though so hopefully we will hear something soon!
