  1. Ohhh, that's interesting, thanks @RH7. Why is it a higher rate of admission for international students from North America? Also, have you ever heard of North American students receiving financial aid/scholarships from LSE? Thanks for all your wisdom.
  2. @RH7 How competitive is admission to degrees like the MSc in development studies? Does about 12 percent for a foreign student sound reasonable?
  3. @skipxtracer Those are great questions whose answers I am interested in myself. Please post any information you receive if you don't mind. Thanks!
  4. Hi all, My stats are the following: -Writing: 6.0, Math: 690, Verbal: 630 (GRE) -3.66 GPA from top public university (U.Va.) -3.97 GPA from community college (had to complete classes there during Teach for America participation) -Teach for America participation -8 months (and planned future time) working at NGO in Guatemala -Internships at Clinton Global Initiative and BBC World News Do you think I would have a solid shot at obtaining admission to a taught master's program (MSc) at the LSE in development studies or public policy/admin.? Thanks- I have no idea how competitive admission is to their myriad programs, but imagine it varies greatly depending on the actual MSc for which you are applying? Thanks again, A
  5. I agree! Very cruel. Mind sharing your information?
  6. Ouch, well I just wish I could be admitted. It is a bit depressing, however, to know that even if I am admitted now I won't be eligible for a scholarship. Congrats to all of those already selected!
  7. Hey, Did you all (meaning MPP applicants) get an email telling you that you have been given a SPARKS account to logon and check the status of your application? Kind of a little cruel to give you an account to the official advising/registration system before you have even been admitted, huh?
  8. I submitted my application on January 12th for the scholarship deadline...
  9. That makes me nervous! I have yet to hear...
  10. Email me at AJL1239@AIM.COM. Please include the SOP "topic/question" in the body of your message. Best of luck, Anthony
  11. Do you think it would hurt me to quote Marx on replacing drudgery with self-realization through the power of education? I don't think there's anything wrong with quoting one of the most influential philosophers of the past millennium, but I'm just curious if anyone disagrees... Cheers, A
  12. Hi all, I graduated from the top (sometimes the second best) public university in America. Did three years of teaching with Teach for America and am currently working abroad as an English teacher with a fairly prominent Guatemalan NGO. I would like to apply to: HKS, SAIS, Wagner, SIPA and GPPI. My undergraduate GPA was a 3.66 (3.90 in distinguished history major, 3.67 in foreign affairs) and my GRE math was 690, while my GRE verbal was 630. AWA was 6.0. Do you think my (relatively) speaking low GRE score would make any of these schools just ridiculous to apply to? Also, I would characterize Wagner as a safety, GPPI as a solid and SIPA/SAIS/HKS as reaches. Agree? Disagree? Thanks! A
