On Rejection: Got a note from the department head that I've been rejected. Saddened, but I understand.

gr8, Accepted to University Of Washington I was rejected last year. Gained more job experience since then and improved application. To those that were denied, don't give up!

I saw this post to day while being accepted in the Results page My brain just exploded.

I was very confident about my 2 page SOP, i edited it so many times(n no) and peer reviewed and it took me a month time to prepare the 2 page SOP, until i come across the 500 words limit of the SOP and i condensed my SOP still it have the essentials of my 2 page(1400 word limit) i think so.

Mine was 2 page and i had submitted it in Pdf format, it has sections Personal, Educational, Scholastic Achievements, Key Academic Projects and i mentioned my research internship in this section, Mini Projects, Positions of Responsibilities, Publications(only one and not international), Software skills, Extra Curricular Activities done in the college, Same CV was used in my placements interviews held in my college and i modified a little bit while sending to the universities

I have prepared 3 versions of SOP 1. 2 pages length - 1400 word limit 2. 1000 word length 3. 500 to 600 word length i have submitted 2 pages SOP approx 5 universities, before i have applied to other universities they needed 500 to 700 words only so i have shortened my SOP to that word limit, i have prepared separate SOP for each and every university where as my 1st 3 paragraphs information is same only last 2 paras are tailor made to according to the applied university

I am thinking my applied list is very ambitious to my profile applying to 2 more universities (NEU, UTD) will be safe? for them dead lines are March 15th and May 1st. For seniors opinion i want to evaluate my applied list with respect to my profile. Before applying to NEU, UTD i want to wait 2 to 4 weeks, hoping of any one admit from my applied list, then there is no need to apply NEU and UTD, if i got rejects from my safe universities (ASU, IUB) then considering to apply NEU and UTD I want to give a shot to all my dream universities so applied to very ambitious universities also

Hello, i applied for Fall 2014 MS CS, My Profile: International undergrad computer science student(NIT, Durgapur, WB, India)- complete by june 6th 2014 CGPA: 7.65 Toefl: 113 GRE: 159V / 162Q / 4.5 AW (321) Research experience: 2 different projects, Internship 2 months on HCi in IIT Kharagpur. Areas of Interest are: HCI, Artificial Intelligence, Systems My Applied Universities List: CMU - INI(MSISTM, MSIN) UIUC University of Michigan, Ann Arbor Georgia Institute of Technology U Southern California UC Irvine Ohio State U Texas A&M U, College Station Arizona State U U Minnesota, Twin Cities Indiana University Bloomington Vanderbilt U Considering to apply NEU and another one university(UTD) in Feb depending on the decisions i may get in above applied universities, IS Applying to more than 12 universities will cause a problem at VI
