Sooooooooooo different topic and likely not the proper area for it BUT: Is anyone in Ithaca right now this second?? I moved in super early and am dying a little inside due to the lack of social stimulation. If anyone would be down with a CTB date or the like, please let me know. Or, if you are just in the same situation and can lend some internet support that would be fab too.

Hello, I am wondering if anyone has any experience with finding housing in Ithaca recently. From what I've read on older forums, off-campus housing is the norm and on-campus housing is criminally expensive. Although I would guess living on campus would be convenient, I do not want to be poor or socially-isolated. Any advice at all would be welcome. I will be moving to Ithaca (from somewhere not so far away) in August. I went there for undergrad so I am very familar with the campus, but lived on campus all four years so I have no experience with the trauma of looking for a place/dealing with shady landlords etc.. I would like a furnished, cat-friendly one bedroom apartment within reasonable walking distance to campus and I'd like to (if this sounds laughably unreasonable, please, do tell) pay $500-$1000 in rent. Again any advice at all would be welcome! I am so excited to get started at Cornell. Thanks in advance for any and all guidance.
