So now that we are on the wait-list, what do we do? Does it help to contact the department/admissions committee to make a case why this school is such a priority for you? Or does that just annoy them? Any tips?!

Does anyone have any updates on CUNY? I just found out that I am on the wait-list...However, I have to assume that by this point quite a few people have received offers from them. Any idea if I have any chance of still getting accepted? Are all the spots filled?

Anyone familiar with Stony Brook? It wasn't the top of my list but looks like it will be the only school I end up getting into. I know a little bit but would love to hear others insights on the school and location...What is the town and university like in general? How reputable is the program in the field? What are the program's strengths and weaknesses? Thanks for any info!
