Hi, I am applying to Masters programs in Statistics for this fall and I was wondering if I could get some advice on my applications. My profile:
Undergrad Institution: University of Toronto
Major: Chemistry
GPA: 3.50 (Overall), 3.63 (Math)
GRE: 161 Q, 155 V, 3.5 AW
Relevant Coursework: Advanced Calculus (A), Linear Algebra (A), Probability (A-), Statistics (A), Real Analysis I (A), Real Analysis II (B-), Measure Theory I (A-), Measure Theory II (B+), Regression and ANOVA (A-), Stochastic Processes (B ), Numerical Linear Algebra (A-)
Research: Nothing notable, but a senior research thesis in chemistry. Also a data analysis project in my regression analysis course:
LORs: Two chemistry professors, and a pure mathematics professor who know me well
Schools I've Applied To: UIUC, UNC-Chapel Hill, NCSU, Iowa, UCSB, UC Davis, UM-Twin Cities
Do I have a decent shot at any of these schools? None of them are considered to be "safeties". I'm worried about my chances. Should I apply to a couple lower ranked schools?
