They told us that the faculty will probably meet to make decisions this week or next, but it could be end of March to when the decisions are actually released since it has to go through the grad school. We were told that there are fewer seats than the number of us who were invited to visit/interviewed I met people from all the Comm depts as well as other non-comm dept interviewees at Northwestern during the past weekend, so it seems like it was a massive interview weekend.

Congrats everyone!! Lots of good news lately! I do have one problem that I wanted advice on. I have two school visitations on the same weekend, so I told school #2 that I couldn't make it since I had already committed to visiting school #1. School #2 emailed me again today asking if I could come any other week (and that they would fund the visit). Would it be completely atrocious for me to ask if I could visit over a weekend...? I imagine they would probably say no, but I wanted to make sure this request wasn't super outrageous. Reason why I can't visit on a weekday is that work is extremely unhappy with me for taking so much time off, and I had promised my manager that I wouldn't be taking any more days off before I received this email. We are also entering a pretty hectic season

Thanks! And congrats on UCSB! So I think the events are 2/5-2/7...and they'll fly us back home on 2/8? Not sure. It's just I happen to be on the east coast so they wanted to fly me over the night before. When I expressed my concern about work, they said they can fly me in late on 2/5 instead so I'll come in sometime in the afternoon....but still missing 5.5 days of work in the next 2 weeks with such last minute notice is not going to fly well, especially with all the snow days we've been getting. Yikes. Thanks! Looking forward to visiting WSU even though it'll cause problems work-wise Congrats on everyone who have gotten acceptances!! More to be coming soon for the rest of us hopefully.

So I just heard from Washington state university about a paid visit next week!! I am excited but in a huge dilemma as they want me there from 2/4-2/8 and then I have the USC event from 2/12-2/16 the week after.... Only problem is I am a full time employee at a firm and can't afford to take that many days off/would need to have a really, really good excuse to miss basically 2 weeks of work. I realize that not being able to go to the WSU event will probably jeopardize my chances. It looks like a typical recruitment weekend as he noted 25 ppl were invited. Does anyone have any insights/advice? I have ready confirmed to the USC event and will be attending that one for certain.

Hi - new here! I just heard back from USC Annenberg PhD last night about paid visit and an interesting letter that accompanied it. Not sure what to think if anyone has insights? It didn't mention anything about an interview being conducted during the visit, but maybe I should prepare for it in case. Haven't heard back from any other schools I applied to: - Penn Annenberg - Northwestern (MTS) - UWisconsin-Madison (MA) - Washington State University
