  1. No, I applied in mid-January. They have been horrible during the application process as well (and I went there for undergrad!). I have heard they take their sweet time - I'm not expecting a decision for the next few weeks to a month. Sorry to be a downer.
  2. Any news from anybody on the admissions front? Still waiting on my end.....
  3. . I live in Chicago - Loyola notoriously doesn't give scholarship money. It's an okay school but it's definitely not UofC; also, UIC is a bit better and much cheaper. At the agency I work for, many of our interns go to Loyola and they don't particularly love it.
  4. Congrats! Sounds like a great program! Curiously, I noticed your applications dates. I am shocked that USC is the first college you heard back from - it looks like you've been waiting 3-4 months for some schoos - is that right?
  5. I AM confident in them, and many of my friends are using IBR with the intention of PSLF - HOWEVER - there is also the National Health Service Corps. My work supervisor signed on and they forgave $60,000 in loans! I am planning on staying with the mental health agency I work for currently after I get my clinical license (you need to be an LCSW already) to sign up. Also, you need to work in an area or for an agency in which there is demonstrated need. For example, I work in an urban area of Chicago where there is a great need for mental health services. It's not just arbitrary, though - you can google NHSC and find out which agencies, etc. are part of the program. This is why if I get into UofC at 40/grand a year, vs. UIC at 10/grand a year, I still plan on going to U of C. It's been my dream school for years, anyway. I see you're from Charleston! I am travelling there next month for pleasure for a night as part of a road trip, and looking to stay in the historic district (EXPENSIVE I just discovered, jeez). Any recommendations of sights, accomodations, restaurants to make sure to see in a 24-hour period, haha?
  6. Me too! Good luck to you! Let's keep each other posted!
  7. Hi all - I applied to two schools - UIC and UofC, both in Chicago and both in early January. Still haven't heard a peep as of yet, although UofC specified by mid-March (and they sure are sticking to that)! I'd like to start a thread on how long we all waited, or are still waiting on admissions decisions - at the very least, we can commiserate in our anxiety! Thanks!
  8. Ohhh, I'm so sorry. When did you apply? Did you apply to other schools? Did they email you?
  9. Ugh, me too! I applied on January 4th for the EEP program, and UChicago my first choice and dream school! I, too, am checking my email multiple times a day. I honestly don't think I can handle another few weeks. Every email I receive makes my stomach jump into my esophagus. What day did you finish your application? Have you heard anything at all?
  10. I applied to UofC on 1/4, but haven't heard anything yet. This is my top choice, so I can hardly bear another month of waiting! I just got an email from them yesterday about financial aid, and make sure to fill out your FAFSA, get your financial ducks in a row, etc - I'm hoping this is a harbinger of good things to come? I am also applying for PT, so I am curious how that affects admission rates. I need to stop overthinking....
  11. Yes! I am going to be working at my current postion as a case manager/mental health counselor full time. I'm going for UIC's and U of C's extended evening programs (third year full-time). It will be tough, but I am more than ready! I'm glad someone else is in the same boat! I am also lucky, because living in the Chicago area there are many wonderful MSW programs, the majority of which do PM study.
  12. Waiting.....waiting......waiting.....checking email four times a day now and the submitted application sites......even though they both said around early March....waiting. Anybody heard anything recently?
