My goodness.... you already know that I was rooting for you. It is a shame that they didn't choose you....Personally, I think you have many great opportunities ahead. I'm sure everything feels like shit now and that is hard to accept right now.

You're encouraging me to be more creative... I am usually only creative with the types of cards!

That isn't cheesy at all. ANY professor, etc who writes me a recommendation gets a card from me with a genuine heartfelt note...every. single. time. soon after writing for me. Also, I ensure to keep in contact with those people/new people. It is good to get into the habit of showing gratitude toward the people who support you! They really appreciate it. I am sure the people you want to gift would be more than flattered. I have heard a lot of stories from the people I thank who say: 1.) They never say thank you... 2.) They never updated me on how the thing they were going for turned out. Writing ensures they will write for you again, forms a bond, AND they will give you and offer excellent advice since they are so in tuned with what you are trying to do with your future. Some of my recommenders over the years have introduced me to excellent people and I am sure showing my appreciation towards them had a lot to do with that.

Whew! That's my mistake...YES, within 2-3 weeks! LOL my apologies!

One of the other potentials posted an email that she received from Fulbright with the same information. Afterward, my Fulbright advisor also looked into it because I was trying to figure out some things and was told that we should receive notice in the next two even three weeks. One week down...heck, we might end up being notified next week.

April is definitely our month! I am applying ETA Taiwan. :-) Last year, people were notified April 2...tomorrow is April second but I have also heard some talk from Fulbright about two-three weeks from now. Oye!

AHHH CoNGRATSS

Last year, ETA Taiwan was notified April 2...but Fulbright advisor told me that Taiwan is not expected to make decisions until mid April....I believe someone else received an e-mail to that tune as well. The anxious feeling in the pit of my stomach is something else to say the least.

OMG Asia folks....THIS IS OUR MONTH!!!!! May the lawd keep us sane during these next couple of days, weeks, however long. Whew.

My condolences, I hope all the best for you moving forward. As one of my advisors said... "if you don't get what you want...don't start watching TV. Things get bad when you start watching TV." Grieve and continue to move forward... this is something I've had to remind myself when things that I have put my blood, sweat, and tears into don't work out....something else always comes out of the work you put in, it just may come indirectly.

Keep your head up! You're right, you have a great thing to look forward to! All the best to ya!
