I know I'm posting a lot today but I was just curious if anyone had been called for interviews yet from Cal Arts? It says they do it "mid-February" which is basically now give or take a day.

That's hard but my friend, who I think is immensely talented got rejected from 4 out of 5 schools. It only takes one. Don't lose hope!

I had this moment where I was like "Who What Where Huh?!" and then I had this irrational thought process where I was like...well it's this late they wouldn't be emailing that along unless I was really a contender, right? Right?! And then I had to call my friend and we had to analyze. Obviously I'm going crazy. After bikram yoga (to sweat out the crazy) and a good nights rest I realize I was deluding myself... But they still haven't sent anything out so it's not over yet.

Did you get that extra financial aid message from Columbia that you had to fill out? I swear I had a freaking heart attack when I saw an admissions email from Columbia but it wasn't THAT admissions email... Unfortunately... Still waiting to hear back from all of the schools. I applied to: Columbia CalArts UCLA Carnegie Mellon

And your work could grow and develop in amazing ways in the year. Don't feel discouraged. It appears like many of the people are into a second year of applications (as am I) and there is only room for upward growth from here. And like everyone else said...it's not over til it's over!

You're totally right. This is the second year I'm applying though (I opted to do a Post Bacc at SFAI rather than an MFA at SCAD) and I remember how the rejection felt. Even more I only applied to 4 schools because I was feeling pretty particular. I feel those odds heavily. Good luck to you!! I hope you get into your first/ second/ third choices so you get to make the choice.

I'm freaking out. Applications have been finished and there is always that nagging feeling that you're just not good enough or that subjectivity is going to be your downfall and your work just won't be appreciated. I've had my friends reassure me but I'm sure they're sick of me talking about it by now. Can we fast forward a month and just find out? This waiting game may just kill me. How is everyone else dealing with waiting? This is not my first time around the block with applications as I did a Post Bacc year at SFAI but I feel more invested this year. Any advice on how to make it less painful. I'm considering bombarding myself with hobbies for a while and doing a lot of hiking...
