  1. thanks i've not heard from Pitt at all - they're the only one I've not heard from. I'm assuming it's a no, but as I got into my first 2 choices it's kind of a moot point at this stage.
  2. I got the call yesterday (Friday 14th) to say I'd been admitted to Northwestern RPC - it was a very nervous week because as you said there were fewer seats than those invited, so I spent most of this week in a state of anxiety. I had my official admit letter last night as well - so I guess once the decision is made it's relatively quick.
  3. I applied to RPC and I'm going to the welcome weekend - but that's all I know so far. I have just skim read the 26 pages of this thread - has anyone else heard from Pitt? My application status is still showing as "incomplete" despite the fact that under each item in the list of required items it clearly states "received" - baffling. I've not heard from CMU (which is actually not comm) either but I'm assuming it's a no.
  4. I had a call from my POI the other day to discuss research interests/goals etc - she told me that the various faculty were all reaching out to those who'd named them as POI before decisions were made but it seems to me that that would be a massive job if it hadn't already been narrowed down a bit.... but that's just my conjecture.... mine's saying the same thing - it's really frustrating. i spoke to one of their admin people a while back who told me my application was good to go but there are definitely no toefl scores there (because i'm british and did my ma here in the states) - i'm finding i hit refresh far too often these days.... also big congrats to all the UPenn folks i got the rejection but wasn't hugely surprised, partly because it's UPenn but also because i wasn't entirely sure my research and their areas were a perfect match, unlike some of the other schools where i felt much more neatly aligned with their work.
  5. Mine says the same - I'm officially "international" but I'm British and did my MA in the US so I'm exempt from the TOEFL requirement. I had a call from Minnesota today wanting to discuss my research - not sure what that really means. I also had a call from UIC saying they want to offer a fellowship but were missing a signature on a form so could I sign it again and send it to them. So I guess that means I'm in there but it's all a bit inconclusive!
  6. yep, definitely, i applied to both but have only heard from USC. The UPenn website still says they review in feb. Yes! I'm excited for it! Yes, I'm planning to, looking forward to it!
  7. Oh ok, I guess I missed that.... I think ultimately I'm going by their website that says they don't review til Feb - mostly because it makes me feel better!! Thanks, yes, it is, Northwestern, Mich and UPenn are my top choices so I'm pleased to have 1.5 out of 3
  8. Where was this info? Their admissions faq says they review in feb, so I guess I've missed something, can you give a link? for the record, I've had nos from UCSB, USC, Iowa, a solid yes from Michigan and a shortlist/invitation to visit from Northwestern (RPC)...
