Hey dr_walrus, mine says the same "withdraw application." But it could be just a random thing. Gustav, it's right underneath review application details.. Nonetheless, a weird option to include right now, especially if we have already been rejected.

Ok Gustav! I seriously think we should just hug and cry at this point!! I have the same problem with two of my POIs that encouraged me to apply but weren't on the committee. It happens...it was my dream school, but life goes on...

Anyway, the lack of response from this person was kind of irritating. We applied and we should at least have the right to have even a vague answer.

Gustav, the situation is weird. I emailed a POI, who knows me, and he told me that he wasn't sure but probably I wasn't in at this point (but he admitted that he didn't know with absolute certainty since he is not on the graduate admissions committee). Besides that, I emailed another person 3 days ago but she didn't answer at all. I think they decided and we are rejected, since it's February 13th. But this silence is weird nonetheless. I take for granted that the interviewees are not here or don't want to disclose any info (I'm even thinking about the possibility that the adcomm might have told them not say anything, at this point...but maybe an exaggeration on my part). I would like to be wrong, but unfortunately I don't think that's the case....

That's also true!! This is exactly my logic....but then sometimes I just think that this year acceptances are not on GC. I guess that we only need to wait and see.

True. That's what I'm doing. It just makes me wonder why there is no sign whatsoever, while we have info about almost every other major english or complit department. But I guess it's just a random thing.

Hey Guys, Have you heard anything from Duke lit? Should we all imply a rejection? It seems so weird that they haven't contacted anyone. I would like to find some piece of mind about it....

Hey guys, I have no idea, but it's a slow wait each day. One theory I have is that since they changed the DGS this year they also changed the timeline and maybe the whole process? But it's still late though... Or maybe all the interviewees are not here! In the meanwhile congrats to Gustav on Berkeley and Cornell!! It's awesome...I just read it!

Hey Zebby, welcome in the club of anxiety for Duke! I really don't know what to think at this point. There's 5 of us here already but no news yet and it is February 4th...I seriously have no clue.

I hope you are right Gustav! And history does seem to suggest that. Although if you look at 2010 only one person posted it, and after 15 days from the invite...(I know I'm probably being overly analytic) What makes me wonder is that many other departments in the Humanities (included Romance studies and English) already sent out acceptances, and they don't even have interviews.. However, like you say, not seeing any posts could (and should) still be a good sign for us.
