  1. Just got the email! I received a Non-Resident Tuition Waiver, which is equal to about $7,500 per year. Minnesota is already a very reasonably-priced school, so I'll take it!
  2. I have not heard yet either, and I know of another strong applicant who also has not heard today. I know in years past they have contacted those who were not awarded funding.
  3. To the people getting scholarships today: did you contact Chicago or did this just happen out of the blue?
  4. I'm in, too! I received a $10K Fellowship (to split across 4 semesters) for the MPP program. I was also admitted to the Masters of Applied Economics program, so I do have the option of doing a dual MPP/MAE with Michigan. Michigan is probably my #4 choice right now behind Minnesota (Humphrey), Duke (Sanford), and Georgetown (McCourt). I'm planning on continuing on to an Economics PhD after my MPP. Minnesota and Georgetown would give me an opportunity to take great preparatory courses, while Duke is guaranteeing an Assistantship and solid funding. Also, Michigan did not interview me before today's decision.
  5. Congrats everyone! I was admitted. No funding. This will be an interesting decision.
  6. BYU Independent Study offers accredited online courses, and they are the cheapest that I know of (approx. $500 total for a 3-credit College Algebra course). You can start whenever.
  7. Not yet. I'm leaning toward Minnesota and Chicago, due to their quantitative/economics focus. But, I haven't heard yet from Chicago on admissions or Minnesota on funding.
  8. Thanks! No, I did not have an interview prior to the admissions decision. I applied to the MPP program. Did you apply to a different program at Maryland? Also, perhaps only International students require an interview, in order to test English skills?
  9. Haha, to give them the benefit of the doubt, I'd say it's poorly worded. They did send me a decision letter by mail, after the email acceptance. The mailed letter was identical to the web version. I think what they meant by "email correspondence" is that you shouldn't email them asking if you got accepted. Instead, you should wait to be contacted. Still, probably not the most well-written paragraph ever.
  10. I got an email last week with an unofficial acceptance letter. A day or two later, a link to this letter appeared in the "Check Application Status" section of my application.
  11. I'm in, too! I got a phone call this afternoon. He said we will hear about merit-based financial awards by March 14th, at the latest.
