I have an offer from Drexel without any information on funding (eye roll) and was asked for the $100 deposit if I accept the offer. My friend who got accepted at USciences also did not receive any info on funding but was asked to pay $150 as deposit. Is it some kind of a Philadelphia thing?

Thanks all you posters on the advice for selecting school to attend. MackF, it is the IMV program (Immunology Microbiology and Virology).

When selecting the school you will be attending from among your offers, how would you rank the following criteria? brand of the school project of interest connections of the faculty feedback from existing students which include information about how the PIs help students with their future placements in industry or as post doc. also, if you want to add any other factors that would influence your decision, please feel free to do so. BTW, rejection from Stony Brook Molecular Genetics and acceptances from universities at Buffalo and Rochester on the same day!

I applied to the Immunology program. A PI I mentioned in my SOP was very interested during the interview itself. I guess that is why a quick offer. They did say though during the interview that they would take two to three weeks to make the decision. Also, because I will have to accept the offer first and then obtain I20 for visa processing stuff so it makes sense that the offer was made out early because the process will be longer for an international student.

Exactly! This time around I opened the letter scanning for any mention of an amount. The rest will be all yadda yadda I knew.

Roswell Park Cancer Institute admit!! Interview on the 20th and offer on the 24th! First one so far. edit: first one with stipend and insurance.

BTW, I have heard back from Roswell Park today and my interview is scheduled Feb 20th. It is a skype interview with a faculty I mentioned in my SOP. When was yours? I wonder if this is the final week with only skype interviews.

Thank you. That was helpful information. The interview is over and I felt they did not know anything of my background. Which is okay considering they are interviewing many candidates. I have no idea what impression I made because they just said very casually that I will be notified later. I think some of my answers were not really up to the mark. Maybe I am over thinking. I have had only one interview before this and the interviewer who was the program director had said they are pretty excited about my application and hopefully will be able to make an offer. I just called Kate and she said no invitations for genetics has been send out! this is weird.

and I just sat through an adcom interview where no one had any idea of my background and were pushing the laptop towards each other as if no were were interested to talk to me. To top it all I am thinking I have said the stupidest stuffs. It is 2 in the morning here and I hope they see this is not a very convenient time to have a straight head. aaagggghhhhhh
