So... I got accepted to a really great school with the condition that my CGPA is over a 3.3. I've been at my university for what will end up being 4 semesters after getting my AAS at a community college in 2012. My GPA at my school now is just under 3.1, and to get a 3.3, I would have to get a 3.9 in a semester where I'm taking 20 credits (which isn't going to happen, not to mention that finals are next week and pulling a 4 is impossible). I emailed the school to see if they need my grades from my previous school, thinking that CGPA is truly cumulative. They respond by saying they didn't need those grades. With all of my schooling (including a study abroad I did at a different school that is being applied to my degree), my total GPA is a 3.56, without this semester. Essentially, what is the best argument for this school to accept all of my grades, not just the last 4 semesters? Thanks!

Congrats, Extexan..... so does that mean you're sending in your rejection for UBC so those of us who applied have another spot to fight for?

to whoever posted about UBC ---- I'm totally with you. If I get accepted to UBC, I have a huge decision to make. I got accepted to University of Leeds and Aberystwyth University and its already tough. Still waiting on UBC, Exeter, and Durham. This. I've alluded before that I sort of have an in at the OSU department. I'd be interested to hear names to confirm what happened. I was in the room when fellowships were released and I highly doubt anybody was promised anything. If somebody rejected other programs without something in writing, I'd find it hard to be sympathetic.

Submitted my application to Aberystwyth last Monday. Given a conditional offer today. That's how this process should work, right? Anyways, excited to get the first one out of the way!

Tried replying to this earlier, but I suppose it didn't post. I have an application in at UBC and it is currently in "Application Under Review" and it has been for almost two weeks now. I emailed the coordinator of my program, and she said that it is under review and that they review applications until May.

I've applied to 2 schools in Canada where the deadline has already passed. I didn't really contact any professors. Should I still? I've read that for some masters that it's not required, but I'm debating doing so. If it means anything, one of my applications has been 'under review' for a week.

Honestly? Planning on what my next move is if I don't get in to where I applied. I'm applying to 7 schools, 6 of which are in the top 60 in the world in my field. The other is just inside the top 100. My grades are nowhere near where I need them to be (IMO), but I have two rocking LORs. I go to a school away from 'home,' so I don't really have much other than this.

Re: OSU MA/MS - I have personal knowledge that the top candidates have been offered, the bottom have been rejected. Everyone else is in that limbo stage where they wait on either some sort of funding or those waiting on those who have been accepted to decline

I've applied for MA at UBC and Queens. UBC is under review and Queens is showing application complete. Crossing fingers for both (not history though.... I noticed this after I posted.).

So my top choice school is missing a transcript from a community college I attended a few years ago. I ordered it a month ago and another school received it about two weeks ago, but it is still listed as missing at this other school. They have a student copy of it. My application status is now listed as 'Application Under Review.' What, if anything, should I do? Thanks!

Hi all, New cafe-er here. I've applied to UBC, Queen's University (Canada), Aberystwyth, Leeds, Durham, Exeter, and King's College London. I reached way too far on all 7 and am almost submitting to the fact that I won't be in school in the Fall. Although, I did have some conversations with Aber and someone on the committee is a Phd alum from my current UG. Hoping that helps, my GPA surely won't be helping.... Also, I noticed a few people applying to or accepted to OSU for geography. That's my UG! I know the staff pretty well (I've had a good bit of them, and I do my work study in the Geog office). If anyone has any questions regarding anything in particular about the school or the department, I'd be happy to answer.
