  1. HEY! I just found out I got off the waitlist at U of A, so I'll be heading west instead of east! Congrats on getting accepted as well! I've never lived in Edmonton, but every time I've visited or gone shopping there I've enjoyed it!
  2. I will see you there!! How did your visit of the campus go?
  3. Has anyone heard from U of A this week? I'm starting to lose hope (it's my top choice), because most of my classmates heard from them last week. Also, do you think it would be okay to phone them Monday if I haven't heard to find out what my application status is? The timeframe to accept my offer to McGill is becoming smaller and smaller, and I'm really impatient!
  4. This may be an unanswerable question, but for the people who have been accepted to U of A has there been a trend in regards to what day people find out? The whole sending out acceptances in waves thing is so cruel!
  5. I just got an email back from Noriko Hessman at U of A this morning, and she said that the Admission Committee would be making decisions up until the end of March. Other than that she was unable to answer my questions about at one point should one start to feel worried, or when the first wave of applicants would all be notified by. I do know last year that my classmate didn't get her acceptance email until after April 1st for U of A, so they definitely do take a long time to make these decisions unfortunately.
  6. Thank you! No, my status on uapply still just says 'submitted'
  7. Thank you!! I was also super shocked to receive the email on a Sunday, but there it was at 9AM/11AM (their time). It also straight out said "We are pleased to...be recommending you for admission" instead of the "significant decision made" email that other people have received. Good luck Esselpy!
  8. YAY!!! I just got an acceptance email from McGill this morning!! This doesn't even feel real! I didn't even know they sent out stuff on Sundays (its just like a Hogwarts letter showing up on a Sunday!) Congrats to everyone else who's been accepted and to all those waiting, hang in there your time is coming!!
  9. My status at Dal also says incomplete documents and written notification to follow. I sent a second set of transcripts after my fall semester grades were released, and received an email right after the deadline saying that they had received all of my documents, transcripts, letters, etc. Based on receiving the email and so many other people having their online status filled out the same way makes me a lot less nervous. They could just be really slow at updating online, as I believe someone said earlier they had been recommended for acceptance and their status hadn't changed. That's my hope anyways! Also, the wine sounds like a fabulous idea!! I can't think of a better way to relax, and get through the next two days of inactivity.
  10. I applied to U of A as well, and am also hoping that it doesn't take as long as last year to find out! Waiting is driving me crazy!! Every time I have an email notification or the phone rings I think 'this is it!', and it never is (or hasn't been so far)
  11. Hey all! So excited to finally get to post in this thread and anxiously watch for results to come in. I checked this forum religiously last year for one of my classmates and plan on probably doing the same for myself! Anyways, thought I would post my stats and where I was applying... GRE: 157VR, 152QR, 4.5AW Overall GPA: 3.96 Pre-req GPA: 3.89 Educational Background: B.A. in Linguistics Volunteer Experience: 40ish hours volunteering and observing with an SLP working with an adult population, coaching soccer for 3-6 year olds Relevant Work Experience: About 30 hours of teaching experience - I led a tutorial for one of the introductory courses at my university and have about 40 hours experience working with individuals with autism in a recreational setting My greatest weakness is definitely my reference letters. I'm terrified that one of my referees didn't actually upload her letter for one of the schools, but I'm trying not to think about it. I also really wish I could have read my academic letters before I sent them. I also contemplated retaking the GRE to try and bump up my QR score, but just didn't have the time to study and retake them during the semester. I applied at U of A, Dal and McGill, but my heart is set on U of A. My chances at McGill are so/so as I don't know if the stats classes I've taken will actually count as they weren't called Stats 1 and 2, but touched on the same course content mentioned in the description. As for Dal, as I said before the status of one of the letters is up in the air. They emailed and said they had received all my documents, so I'm hoping that's a good sign, but who knows! Good luck to everyone!!!! I hope we all survive the stress of these next few months!
