the interview was strange....It was very impromptu, they literally just called me notifying me that i am being considered and then began to ask questions. I do really love their program especially since it is very small, but i am nervous they focus too much with in specific mediums. As in if you apply for sculpture you better do sculpture, which for me is a negative. I want exploration, which is why i applied as for sculpture i feel it is a large umbrella encompassing all forms of art. I am not sure how it actually went since it was my first ever interview, needless to say i was thrown off and nervous. it also sucked that the professor didn't know one of the artists that i am most inspired by...so that part of the conversation was hard, i felt he was trying to lead me to say someone else, which i did but i tried to re-iterate the importance of the artist he was not familiar with. we will se i guess. I am just happy i am being considered. i'm very excited for my CCA interview i really love their program. It is super heavy on theory and the artists thought process and personal exploration. they are also very open about artists exploring different mediums, which is great.

any new news over here in the sculpture world?
-
yellow magnet, the same for me, I still haven't heard from CCA and I emailed them to follow up about the interview...still nothing. It is kind of annoying, but i have to be patient. I did talk to a graduate last night for a while about CCA, he had alot of really great things to say about the program.

just received call from Indiana U- Bloomington for sculpture! It was an impromptu interview...so nerve racking. He said we should know very soon who got accepted.
-
Congrats Yellow Magnet!
-
has anyone heard from UCLA, Cornell, or Indiana U-Bloomington? I've only heard from CCA and I am just getting anxious now.
-
hahaha I absolutely agree, I was just curious based on the other schools you applied to! Its always interesting learning peoples reasoning for choosing certain schools...
-
Yellow Magnet, I can understand the facilities, but faculty? CAtherine Opie is amazing! along with Hirsch Perlman and Barbara Kruger (which i think she only teaches undergrad) It is my number one closely tied with Cornell (I really want to work with Carl Ostendarp)
-
Yellow magnet why aren't you applying to UCLA?
