  1. On the website it says not everyone will be interviewed. Does anyone know someone who got accepted without an interview?
  2. Ugh yeah I saw that. How do we know for sure that we can get aid this way?? I'm anxious and annoyed.
  3. Congrats JHopes! Hoping they mail financial aid info with the official acceptance letter otherwise I can't go. Can't justify paying 80K for a program...
  4. I got an email this morning notifying me that I have been accepted but its not clear as to if I get any financial aid. Did anyone else hear from the school??
  5. Haha me too!! I just want to plan already! I also completed my app on the 24th but I know someone on the forum already got an acceptance. Well I guess we just have to get through one more week.
  6. I know some of you have already hear from Fordham but I wanted to start a separate post to see when people applied and if they heard back. I'm just getting really impatient!!
  7. Maggiedot- I spoke to someone in admissions and they said you can't submit the scholarship form until you have been accepted into the program. The program may be cheap but I still like to know if I get any aid. Sigh.
  8. MaggieDot - It says it's Due May 1st but I didn't realize that was the same form from last year. It didn't specify which year it's for. Is the new one not available yet? And yeah I keep getting the same error when I try to upload the scholarship form. If the deadline is May 1st I assume we have time to apply.
  9. Is anyone else having trouble uploading the scholarship form?
  10. Awesome! Congrats!! Did Loyola notify you by mail/email? Also any word on financial aid? Thanks!
  11. Mr.architect, when did you find out about fordham? And when did you apply? Thanks!
  12. Yeah I'm worried about the finances now too. My boyfriend thinks it's a bad idea to take out so many loans for a job that will start off at $45K and not get higher than $80K. He thinks I shouldn't do it unless I get a full ride. Not sure what to do... There's a chance I may have to defer or consider other options for the time being.
  13. Thanks! We should all keep in touch and update each other with our experiences.
  14. Thanks for all the info nightwolf!! This is all very helpful. I live in NYC currently and I can say Boston is definitely cheaper than NYC but definitely still on the expensive side.
  15. Sweetpiepear - I did a comparison and BU will be cheaper in the long run by 10K for the total program. And since money is factor, I'm leaning towards BU. They are both giving 1/2 of the tuition but BC is more expensive by $5000/year. I do like BC's clinical program more but I think BU's program is just as good. Since I prefer to work with adults, it won't matter which one I go to. I know BC has a school track and many school field placements so it makes sense for you to choose BC over BU. I'm still waiting to hear from 4 other schools but I think i'll have to put a deposit down for BU to at least hold my spot and scholarship. I think it will be an honor to attend either BC or BU. They are both reputable schools with great programs.
  16. I was accepted as well with a scholarship that will cover 1/2 the tuition. I'm concerned about finances too so I'm waiting to see if another school will offer me a better financial package but if not BU is my top choice and I'll most likely go. I'm looking at it as an investment. BU is great school so I'm hoping the cost of it will pay off in the long run.
  17. I think the loan is just an estimate. The letter says they won't download the FAFSA until mid march so you won't know the exact aid until then but they want to provide everyone with an estimate to give them an idea of the cost.
  18. Oh I agree. If BC specializes the program you are interested in the extra 10K will be worth in the long run. BC definitely seems to be heavy in school based social work. Most of their field practicums are at schools or with children so I think BC would be perfect for you. Hopefully you get in!! If not, remember that you can tailor your experience at any school to what you eventually want to do so don't lose hope!
  19. Thanks for checking hopefulmsw! You can always overnight your deposit via express mail the day before or the Friday before. You will hopefully hear from BC by then. Since I got into both programs, I was doing a comparison and it would be about $10,000 cheaper to go to BU vs BC and the education will be comparable. So I think I'm leaning towards BU. i also applied to a few other programs in other states but BU is my number one choice at the moment. I don't know what you guys are thinking in terms of BC vs BU???
  20. Congrats guys!!! Now it's decision time!!
  21. Thanks guys!! Good luck to you both! Hope you hear something soon!
  22. I just got a call from BU to let me know that I was admitted into the program. My application was complete on 1/17 so it took them exactly a month to let me know. They said they will email me more information shortly. Those of you still waiting to hear, it seems they are doing their round of calls this week so you should hear something soon!
  23. I know I was surprised to get a response so quick so I assumed they looked at my materials as they were submitted. Speaking of the 4th recommender, I had one too and had to delete them bc they didn't submit it yet and that's what made it complete on the 28th vs the 21st. Not sure if you want to call bc to confirm if it matters?
