  1. Saw some acceptances go out--any word on if they're done with decisions? I saw that no wait lists were posted so I was wondering if people had any more info about it. Thanks.
  2. Just got rejected from OSU's Comparative Studies program. Received an email on behalf of Nina Berman, Graduate Studies Director: "Thank you for your interest in our program and for submitting an application. The admissions process was very competitive this year; we had more applications than expected, and many of them were very strong. Unfortunately, we can only admit a very small group of students. Your application was strong, but we had to make some tough decisions, and were not able to include you in the group of students who were admitted. We wish you all the best for your graduate education." So...that sucks. This or OSU's English program were my first choice.
  3. Ohio State might also be a good fit. Jared Gardner works on comics there, and they have the Cartoon Library as well.
  4. I'm waiting on Minnesota's CSCL program, which has sent out one acceptance that was posted here at the very least. American Studies invited interviewees in early January and decisions have been sent out to those who interviewed. So I'm not sure if they're doing another round or what...
  5. I can confirm the POPC and ACS people at BGSU interact--especially now that most of us are housed in the same building. POPC is a TINY program, and you'll get to know the people in it very well, but there are tons of awesome people in ACS and the two programs mix a lot. Same with Media/Communications and English (Lit and Textual Studies). A lot of classes in common.
  6. Sorry, yes, Ohio State for Comparative Studies or English... people have heard as early as the 13th for Comparative Studies in the past, so I was just wondering if anyone's heard anything yet this season.
  7. I know they are generally pretty early to respond, and I am so impatient. Has anyone heard anything about spots available, when they're sending out notices, etc.?
  8. Same here--this waiting is so painful. I know I will have so much to do once the semester begins, but I can't wait to hear from my schools. And my first choice is the one I should hear back from first, so I will either be really happy or really disappointed within a couple of weeks.
  9. I know there's already an American Studies thread, but since some of us are applying to programs with different foci (I know I'm applying to programs under all sorts of names) I wanted to start a new thread for Cultural Studies as a whole.
  10. Congrats to those who were accepted to UChicago! For those of us still waiting to hear, what does your application status page look like? I don't even have a decision status section or anything, just an activity thing for which the last entry was me submitting my application... Can anybody shed some light here?
