  1. I won't claim to be an admissions expert as I've been out of school for 6 years, but I have been accepted to the IEP program at Vanderbilt and waitlisted at Harvard so maybe I can offer a little insight by giving some of my background. I am currently in my 6th year of teaching. I spent 1 of those years teaching overseas and the rest in public schools here in the US. I have a lot of experience working with ELs. I really have come to the conclusion that admission commitees want to see that you have passion for the area of study and that you have some experience to back it up. I think that getting some more experience and course work in the area you feel passionate about sounds like a great idea. I think that shows admissions that you are committed and passionate about education. Best of luck as you continue to pursue your passion!
  2. I have been waitlisted for the International Education Program....feels better than total rejection
  3. I also received my acceptance letter about a month ago from Peabody...M.Ed International Education Policy
  4. I applied to the IEP program at HGSE for Fall 2010. I'm currently in my 6th year of teaching (4 years in 3rd grade, 1 year at an international school in Africa, and currently teaching 7th grade). Agreed that this waiting is going to be the worst part! Thankfully I have 60 7th graders to fill my time as I wait I also applied at Vanderbilt.
