Hey, Did anyone apply to the clinical psychology PhD at St. John’s (NY)? I have two application-related questions: There is a request to submit two papers from psychology courses or other relevant work samples — including a laboratory or research paper and a term paper. I have a written MA thesis about a research I conducted- would this be the research paper? What sort of term paper is customary to submit? (I’m an international student, hence the question…). There are two different requests for essays in different places in the online application: one for a personal statement of 300-350 words and one for a statement of professional goals of up to 2MB. Are these the same essay or should I write two? Thanks!

Hey everyone, I am applying to Temple's clinical PhD program and I cannot find specific instructions for the statement of goals on their website. I was wondering if any of you have some information on what they want us to write about? Even just your opinion can help- should I write the "classic" statement with a bit of personal history, or does "statement of goals" mean to write only about my goals? Thanks!

Hey, I took my GRE yesterday and got 159V and 161Q. While this could possibly work for most PhD programs, a weird scenario occurred in which the Prof. that answered my mails were only from 1st tier U (UCLA, Harvard etc.). The median V in UCLA is 166, and the median Q is 162. If I have an MA with plenty of research experience, but no publications or posters, do I have a chance? Or should I retake the GRE? ** I'm an International student, so odds are I can improve my Q but not my V. Thanks!
