  1. helpful_little_elf , I understand what you're saying. At the time I thought they sent it out to every applicant - I was just a bcc (found out only now that this wasn't the case). I got a bit confused then and when I didn't see my name there initially, I sent them an email. In any case, they know, but whoever has the link has it. I'll keep what you said in mind. Cheers!
  2. I know!! I spent one full afternoon going through all the competition But seriously, I don't know about GSA. Random internet searches throw up some pretty scathing reviews too - although of course the reputation is great. I don't think it's very high up on my list, honestly. Best of luck - though I don't know if you need it, the work on your website looks amazing!
  3. Yes, that's what I'm hoping!
  4. They do seem pretty relaxed! I got this email meant for application assessors, with this link where I can now go and check out the portfolios of all those who applied!! Unbelievable. This has made me concerned about their lax attitude! http://application.gsa.ac.uk/assess_postgrad/index.php
  5. Does anyone know about acceptance rates to graduate programmes in graphic design? Data I've come across on the internet is either very old or for other progammes.
  6. I'm also concerned about this! Yale and Pratt both seemed pretty open about skype interviews, but the email from RCA just assumes an in person interview. I've emailed them with a request for skype, but I'm worried about hurting my chances. In either case, flying to the UK from India for an interview is pretty much out of the picture. I'll need a visa on short notice, for one!
  7. thanks, ismewilde yeah, I guess the skype interview must appear intimidating to most people - as it does to me. I have no idea how they'll see my work - or ask me pointed questions about it. help/ advise welcome from anyone out here! in other news, I just got an email from RCA - interview! yay
  8. Hello, So glad to have found this forum! I graduated from architecture school last May, and these past few months have gone by applying to graduate schools for MFA or MA in graphic design / visual communication. I applied to a total of 9 universities, and have heard back from about half of those: London College of Communication MA Graphic Design - accepted Westminster University MA Design for Communication - accepted Goldsmiths MA Design Critical Practice - accepted Royal College of Art MA Visual Communication Glasgow School of Art MA Communication Design School of Visual Arts MFA Design Pratt Institute MFA Communications Design - interview scheduled on 24 February Yale School of Art MFA Graphic Design (3 year) - interview scheduled on 27 February National Institute of Design (India) Post Graduate Diploma in Graphic Design Even though I'm yet to hear back from any of the longer programmes, I'm already so stressed about my decision - I have to choose between the UK and the US and between one, two and three year programmes - all the while weighing in with financial considerations. I live in India and fees are significantly higher for international students. At this point, I feel that even if by some miracle I do get through to YSOA there is no way I can fund three years there - and do I really want to spend 3 more years in college after 5 years doing by B.Arch? Anyways, I was hoping someone could help guide me about my Skype interview with Pratt and Yale - Yale especially because they've asked me to send across hard copies of some original work and I'm wondering how much to send, and how the interaction happens with them discussing the work over webcam. Any help would be much appreciated! PS/ I am yet to hear from RCA even though their website says that they will email all applicants by February 14! Any one else out here waiting? cheers
