  1. Wow I feel like a lot more people here got into Toronto than Laurier. Though that's probably just because of the rosi trick that brought people to the thread. Haha I'm curious though, how many of you that were accepted are coming out of work rather than finishing your undergrad? Number one thing I've been hearing is that I should have taken a year or two off and worked. Those who have shared seem to have amazing experience!
  2. Is it too lame to hope they are still posting acceptances online? haha
  3. Congrats! No change for me... guess that means I was rejected. Toronto was my first choice too.
  4. It's great to finally have a real date for U of T. I think I might be more nervous now though haha. The next week is probably going to go very slowly... And I agree that as soon as anyone sees a change on Rosi they should post here. I keep convincing myself that not seeing anything means I didn't get in rather than they just have posted decisions yet.
  5. Hey Erin, I know that Laurier sends out emails over a couple weeks for acceptances so you have plenty of time to hear back! I'm happy to share some of my experiences with you though. Over the past year I've had two internships: one as a counselor at a family counseling agencey and one as a researcher at the Centre for Community Based Research. I am so lucky to be able to do these placements as a part of my undergrad and even though they were both only 8 hours a week I think theywere a big part of my acceptance. I also was a research assistant and a don for one year, volunteered at a crisis line and youth shelter and am doing a thesis. As well, I think it's important to mention that I applied to the CPPO stream. I don't know if they're sending out acceptances according to streams but I heard less people apply to CPPO than IFG so that may have been a factor as well. For everyone: I know Laurier's websit says they inform you about the OGS byApril 1st. Does anyone know when Toronto lets you know?
  6. I did not sound nearly as excited to get in to Laurier in that post as I actually am lol!
  7. I just received an acceptance email from Laurier this afternoon for their two year MSW program. Looks like they are starting to process these acceptances. Problem is that I have to respond by April 11 and we aren't supposed to hear back from UofT until the 15...
  8. I was reading along with last year's thread and if I remember correctly people started to get accepted to Laurier's two year program around March 20th or something. I wonder if this year will be later than that... AH I am going out of my mind waiting.
  9. If you go into the sgs application and click on profile update it provides you with what your student number would be if you're accepted. Then you can check ROSI using that.
  10. I do the same even though I know we still have over a month to go! I am also curious about the two year applicants' experience. I am just finishing up my undergrad at UW with a Joint Honours in social Development Studies and Sexuality, Marriage and Family. I did two placements in my undergrad. One was as a counselor for individual and family counseling and the other was shorter doing community based research. I have also volunteered for the crisis line at a sexual assault support centre, at a youth shelter and as a peer mentor in mental health. I also did respite care one summer for two children who were deaf. I was a don for a year as well and while that isn't really direct experience it should be with how much counseling I did as part of the job! Academic research wise I am doing a thesis on pediatric palliative social work, I have a presentation at a conference coming up and did a program evaluation for a restorative justice program. Unfortunately while I did as much as I could in my undergrad I am applying right out of school so I know I won't have as much experience as others. I'm still hopeful though!
  11. Congrats to all the advanced standings who have got in! I'm applying to the 2 year program at Laurier and UofT, and I've been lurking for awhile. The pressure's starting to get to me so I thought I should come out of the woodwork. Haha
