@sayjo Yeah I am finding that SLPA jobs are really hard to come by in Illinois. I was looking into being state certified, but Illinois is so much harder than Georgia. That is a really good idea though to work in special education setting! I will definitely be looking into the school run by Easter Seals. I am still hoping Midwestern University or Saint Xavier work out though! Just trying to do anything to make this move up to Chicago possible!

I feel like I could scream. I need a plan for this upcoming year and need to know. I am beyond stressed.

I am from Georgia and plan on moving to Chicago in a few months. As a back up plan for grad schools I have started looking into working as an SLPA in the Chicago area. Does anybody have any information or advice about doing this, especially in the Illinois area. Thanks so much.

Thanks Latte! That makes me feel better. I just really need to get into a Chicago school. I am not wanting to take a year off, but if I don't get accepted anywhere it looks like I might not have a choice. SXU is my first choice, but hopefully I will get an interview from Midwestern or something soon. Congrats on all of your acceptances that is awesome! I have been born and raised in the south so the Chicago winter definitely is not something I am looking forward too. Thanks so much for your response it really does make me feel better! I called SXU today and they said out of 500 applicants they rejected around 200 and accepted 40 and waitlisted the rest of us. She also said 20 people have already declined their offer and they should have an update around April 17th. She won't tell anybody where they stand on the waitlist but they will just be going down the list and it is already predetermined.

I still haven't heard anything from Midwestern. No acceptance, no rejection and no interview scheduled.. I don't know what to think?

I am seriously losing my mind not knowing about graduate school. I need an acceptance. I am from Georgia but trying to move to the Chicago area but am getting very discouraged. Rejected= Northern Illinois and Governors State Waitlisted = Saint Xavier University Still waiting to hear from= Midwestern University, South Florida University, and Valdosta State University I need some words of encouragement.

I know some people are starting to hear back online at the MyNiu website. My status still says application complete. Is this a bad sign?

I still have not received an interview date. Is this normal? I am getting extremely anxious and nervous. I have not received a rejection letter though either. Any advice?
