  1. Hey, how did you find out your apartment number?
  2. Same here - Rains 2BR. See you in the fall
  3. Stanford (Math phd program).
  4. I got into a top school (in math) with your AW score. I think it is completely insignificant for an engineering applicant, especially international one.
  5. Stanford University
  6. http://www.cgsnet.org/portals/0/pdf/CGS_Resolution.pdf Basically if you accept an offer and wish to change your mind after april 15th you need to obtain a written release from the school before accepting other offers.
  7. Yes my e-mail is active. I was able to use it approx. 24 hours after I accepted the offer in axess, as they say. You should be able to login here: http://webmail.stanford.edu with your SU Net ID and password.
  8. I agree that $60.000 for two years is underestimated. It is the estimated cost of living for about ONE year according to their own website: http://studentaffair...ancing-expenses Are they offering you some form of financial support, reduced tuition, TA or something like that?
  9. There is a version of MS office for Mac but you have to buy it separately. I assume it has the same features as the windows version. There is also an OpenOffice version for the Mac which is free but I've heard that it is not as good as the MS office. If you're going to use the laptop just for writing and web surfing then get a Mac. Macs are way cooler than the pcs.
  10. Take a look at this thread: I've used this: http://www.amazon.co...68942336&sr=8-1 this: http://www.amazon.co...title_popover_0 and some Kaplan's book (you'll find it easily on amazon, just search for Kaplan GRE)\ By the way GRE scores alone cannot guarantee you admission to a science phd program so try to improve other parts of your application as well.
  11. I don't think they will feel offended if you turn down their offer, in fact the sooner you tell them the better. I am sure they have a bunch of people on the wait-list waiting for your spot.
  12. I'll definitely be going to Stanford. My program is mathematics phd.
  13. Yes, I did. I think in sciences interviews are not common practice. It depends on the department of course.
  14. You should ask them about that. Funding is crucial when deciding between programs so I think it is ok to ask. The deadline to response to offer of financial aid, as you probably know is april 15th so you will definitely know in a couple of weeks.
  15. As others have said study for the subject test, do your best on that REU (it's not crucial to publish, the important thing is to get a good letter) and try to take more math classes. I think that the number of the math classes you've taken (around 10) may be on the low side. I may be completely off here, since I don't know what the requirements for a math major in the US usually are. someDay, do you think that IMO medals can help you get into grad school? IMO was 4 years ago
