  1. Congrats on your acceptance. I've been thinking about withdrawing but I'm not sure how it's done. Who do I email? The department, the gradschool? What do I say? I have 11 more schools to hear from and I'm pretty sure that I won't be going to 10 of them. BTW Got rejected from Princeton yesterday.
  2. Stanford. I visited the campus in the summer and now it will be very difficult for me to reject their offer.
  3. I assume you know about the results page but just in case, here: http://thegradcafe.c...urvey/index.php you can search for results from any program at any school. I have applied only to Purdue (to the math program) from the schools you listed and I am pretty sure they are no results here from them. So don't worry it's still early and even if you see some acceptances on the results page that doesn't mean you're rejected. Even programs that admit only 10 or so students have multiple rounds of acceptance.
  4. Looks like MIT started sending rejections today. I just got mine. I don't really care, they would've made me take the IELTS, so I wouldn't have gone there in the first place. HAHA they just sent me the exact same rejection e-mail again. Should I reply: "Relax folks I get it, no need to spam me anymore."
  5. I just received an e-mail telling me that I've been recommended for admission to the graduate program in mathematics at the California Institute of Technology. I guess this is an acceptance. No word of funding.
  6. I just received an e-mail notification of acceptance from Stanford. It is my first one and I am so happy right now. I was sure I was out when I saw at least 5 people accepted there on the results page. I guess we should never lose hope. Apparently they are still admitting applicants.
  7. Congrats! It'll be great if you post your stats here so that the rest of us can see what it takes to get into such a school. My bet is 3+ years research experience and 5 publications and well above 90% on the subject test
  8. I assume you use Vista. Try running it with compatibility mode for XP or NT and it should work.
  9. Thanks, guys. I think I am going to apply to at least 10-15 universities, including some top ones. Good luck to all of you in your future grad endeavors.
  10. What do you mean by that? Is my situation so hopeless?
  11. Hi everyone, I am a 4th-year undergrad at Sofia University in Bulgaria and I'll be applying for math phd programs in US. My GPA is 4.0 and my major is applied mathematics. Test scores: GRE General 610V, 800Q, subject GRE math - 820. I expect >100 on my TOEFL. I have won several awards from math competitions for university students (incl. first prize from the IMC). My LORs should be decent ( 2 professors from my university and one from Bulgarian Academy of Science). My biggest problem is lack of research experience. I have been working for a couple of months with a professor (one of my recommenders) on a research project. It is on the non-convex sweep process(differential inclusions) but I doubt we'll have a paper out in time for my application. Which schools do you think I should apply for? Thanks a lot.
