    Harvard??

Hi all. I am going to the HSPH too My program is Biostatistics PhD. I am gonna try it, so maybe see you there
  2. Well, NCSU is a nice place. Uhmmm no, this stuff is quite anonymous, only admins can eventually tell you who is who
  3. Hi all. I got admitted by the Harvard Biostatistics Dept, and this was the only biostat program I've applied to. I'll be glad to hear some opinions about this program, as biostatistics isn't exactly my specialty Thanks, mtey
  4. I am on the wait-list too, but I don't intend to wait any more. If you have other offers, I say don't gamble your future! I believe that most of the people admitted to the program will accept their offers (at least two people that I know from forums, and Yale admits 4-6 people as far as I know). Also if you are certain that you will prefer Yale to any of your offers, you might wanna call them and inquire your position on the wait-list.
  5. Thanks for your replies guys. I definitely share your opinions, but still it's a tough decision. I know about the CGS Resolution but unfortunately I am not in a position to negotiate the offer. Good luck with your applications!
  6. Hi all. I am having a big dilemma about where to continue my education. I am accepted at both UNC and U of Florida for their PhD programs in statistics. I have an exceptional financial aid package from the U of Florida, but it's an exploding offer and I have to make a decision shortly. I know that both universities are pretty good in the area of statistics, but as I browse through the professor's interests I think that UNC is a better fit for me. Also UNC's location is better, I believe. On the other hand the attention that I'll get in the U of Florida will maybe compensate for those factors. Any thoughts about my dilemma will be appreciated. Thanks, mtey
  7. Yes, I do plan to email them the next week. From what you are saying I understand that Duke interviews all of the top ranked students, is that right? By the way mind sharing in a pm your GRE General and Subject scores and other relevant stuff from your application? This will help me evaluate my chances of getting admitted to Duke and hopefully to make my mind whether to accept the offers I have now or to keep waiting.
  8. Hey, congrats about Duke, Piwi! Any idea did Duke send all their offers? I am still waiting to hear something from them but I have other nice offers and this is preventing me from choosing one.
  9. Yes I am aware of these statistics but since the majority of schools do not require the GRE Math I don't believe that it would be comparable, because the GRE Math is not a crucial factor in the evaluation of an applicant... Anyways it is out of our hands now.
  10. Hi, I guess it's worth noticing that UNC does not require the GRE Math scores, it was my mistake. And about the scores, I don't know, nobody seems to know exactly what score is worth sending but some people say that above 80% is OK for stats programs.
  11. I'm so interested in the same question too... So anyone??? I believe that the only universities that require the test are Stanford and UNC sooo if I've screwd the test up I'm not sure whether to send the scores or not.
