  1. To everyone wondering about Adelphi - yes, a bunch of decisions have gone out, but don't freak out too much! I have a friend who got in during one of their last rounds of acceptances in April last year, and she couldn't be happier there! Don't give up hope - as long as you haven't been rejected, you really are still in the running!
  2. I live in Queens, right near the border of Nassau County. It's about a 25 minute drive to Adelphi from where I live. I'm not exactly sure how far Adelphi is from the Garden City LIRR train station, because I've never taken that train. It's between a 43 and 48 minute train ride from Penn Station though, if you choose to live in NYC. http://lirr42.mta.info/schedules.php Personally, I would suggest living in a neighboring town in Long Island and commuting by car, if that's a feasible option for you. I wouldn't want to commute from Manhattan to Garden City, but that's my personal preference. If you live in Queens or Long Island, it's not difficult to (and many people do) go to the city on weekends.
  3. I got a call today from CUNY Queens with an interview offer. I'm so excited - they're one of my top choices. Does anyone know anything about their interviews? The woman on the phone said it's going to be a 30 minute small group interview. Has anyone had interviews like that? Any advice?
  4. I see from the results page that a BUNCH of Hunter rejections went out today by email. I haven't heard back in any way - I wasn't asked to interview (yet) but I wasn't rejected (yet). Does anyone know what this means? I checked on applyyourself and the application status says submitted and everything looks complete. Are they still reviewing applications?
  5. I'm in SUNY New Paltz's online post-bac program and took anatomy and physio of speech and hearing there.
  6. I applied to the Garden City campus, but I know they send out responses in batches between now and April, so as long as you haven't been rejected, you're still in the running!
  7. I've applied to all those schools except Molloy. So far I've only heard from Adelphi, but I know from the results page that some students got interviews at LIU Post.
  8. What do you guys know about the NYU program? How long does it take, what are the professors like, is there a sense of community, etc.? Thanks!
  9. I'm taking Human Biology this semester online through SUNY Empire College. It's not very challenging. I'd look into that - they have a huge online program!
  10. I got accepted to NYU via email this evening, but I've heard a lot of mixed things about their program. Plus, it's so expensive! Does anyone know more information (positive or negative) about NYU's program?
  11. I'm pretty sure Adelphi has housing available, although I don't know any out of town students, so I can't speak to that. My friend said there's a pretty supportive feel and it's not terribly competitive. I don't know about whether textbooks or articles are emphasized more at Adelphi but my friend said she reads both for classes, which sounds to me like a good balance! Hope this helps!
  12. I just recently got accepted to Adelphi's program and it is one of my top choices. I also have a friend who is currently a grad student in the program - I've never heard a bad thing about the program. I've heard great things about the faculty as a whole. My friend tells me they're very approachable and friendly.
