Thank you so very much! Much like Madgab, I am in shock and was not expecting this at all! Here is hoping more good news to you guys! This is my 2nd year applying. I was waitlisted my 1st first and spent a year working in the field and doing some self betterment. It was totally worth not getting in last year. I know that that is hard to believe right now, but please know whatever happens life is going to turn out just perfectly. <3 Good Luck friends!

I totally resonate with this. I also applied last year and again this year. Though my circumstances are different (I am married, with children and a husband who has a set career so moving out of the area for me to go to grad school isn't an option), I am feeling just as frustrated and annoyed. When I was WL the 1st time I tried to up my application by I doing a lot of work in the field, specifically with Early Intervention since that would be my emphasis in graduate school. I also retook the GRE and received an better score. So for my 2015 application GPA is about 3.60, my GRE is just above the 50% percentile, my volunteer work and actual work in the field is extensive, my LOR are strong and I was WL again!!!!! I have done everything my professors have suggested I do to up my application plus more. I am feeling so upset. My whole families lives are on hold and I feel like I am just waiting for my life to start. -
I am wondering if anyone has accepted their position at the UO!?? I've been a few people who have been WL or rejected but I haven't seen much in re: to people joining UO's cohort in the Fall!?
-
Ops forgot to quote! I agree, very confusing. I checked Edfind one day and it said that the UO had 300 applicants this year- then a few days later it said they had 143... Ummm.... Did you end up getting accepted to either of those schools CBG? Best of luck to you!

Oh, no I didn't see that thread!!! I'll search for it! Thanks
-
Did you guys see this? It's for the UO and was updated on 2/23/15 and it says that only 142 people applied. I wonder if that is for this year or last. http://www.asha.org/edfind/details.aspx?id=3431

Probably not, but for someone who is waiting to hear from a school about acceptance off the waiting list it probably will feel like forever. And then after all that waiting not being accepted off a waitlist, or to any grad schools, probably feels like an apocalypse. All someones hard work for the last 2-4 yrs down the drain type of feeling. This shit is hard and stressful. It's a privilege to be in this situation (having and education and searching to further that education), a stressful privilege.

Excellent insights! As someone born and raised in Oregon, I sometimes forget how awesome it is!
-
Why are there so many applicants for Oregon schools? Do people want to live in Oregon, or do the programs offer something different than other programs? I made my application choices by in-state tuition
-
Another fan of Magoosh over here!

I contacted the UO to see where I was paced on the waitlist and they were unable to tell me. Just an FYI
-
Waitlisted at the UO. Sorry to hear about the rejections. Best of luck to you all!

How are you deciding which program to go to?
Madison. replied to moosemoose's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
I am old (29yr), have a young family (4yr old and a baby due in June), and my husband is our primary income so we aren't moving. If I am going to go to grad school it till be at my local university or online, maybe NOVA. Ideally, I would like to be accepted to our local university since my husband works there and I would received a HUGE tuition discount... grad school for under $10k, YES PLEASE! Also, I did my undergrad there and would LOVE LOVE LOVE to continue to work with the professors. So that is how I am deciding. It's totally not as thoughtful as so many of yours- but my life is different than many of you, and that's okay! -
For those of you who have applied to both UO and PSU, which grad program is your preference? Why?
-
You could also do nothing. Sit back, relax and wait for the craziness of grad school!
