Hi. Ive been reading the forum topics and I noticed that most people apply to about 5-20 schools. I was wondering if all of you guys have contacted professors in each school. I read somewhere that it might be better to correspond with profs with the same interests. Corresponding with 5-20 profs is a lot of work! Thanks!

what do you think of my credentials: -Masters in a top univ in japan with about 3.8/4 GPA -1 year exchange at another premiere univ in Japan during my uni -average grades back in a top school back in the philippines my ielts results are not very spectacular. my total score's 8, but i don't know why i got only 6.5 for writing. im applying to yale, univ of brit columbia, wustl, cornell. these are schools which offer support for both asian migration studies and visual anthropology. basically, i am an aspiring visual anthropologist. my problem now is my GRE. i am about to take it and i think my math scores will be terrible. any tips? any comments on the schools i have chosen?
