  1. Applied here last year and was accepted with no funding. I didn't have a great experience with the admissions office so I declined the offer and waited another year to reapply to other schools.
  2. I agree with this assessment gov2school! Good luck!
  3. Notmike, just as a heads up: I called CMU today because there are class size caps on one of the programs I applied to and this is what they said: "We're reviewing applications until early April". Not sure what is going on there...
  4. Ditto. I haven't heard anything either.
  5. Accepted with a partial fellowship! Not sure where I'm going to attend yet. Still haven't heard back from two schools yet!
  6. Admitted with a fellowship! Woot, woot!
  7. May tomorrow be the day! Cheers and positive vibes to you all! Sending positive vibes/karma everyone's way!
  8. Hi everyone: This is what the Director of Admissions stated in an email: "There are several opportunities for our students to pursue research and teaching assistantships. However, due to the workload in the core, we encourage our students to wait until the 3rd quarter of the first year. That being said, however, I will happily add your name to the aid reconsideration list. We will review the list regularly and make decisions accordingly between now and April 15th. We, however, cannot guarantee that you will be awarded additional aid, but we will fully reconsider you for scholarship. Stay tuned!" Make sure you get your name added to the aid reconsideration list!
  9. Congratulations! This is my number 2 choice so I am really worried that I haven't already heard anything.
  10. Got ya! That's great! When did you visit per chance? I visited on Columbus Day (I remember it being a beautiful day). I applied for Domestic Policy (I cannot for the life of me remember which field number it is!) as I was told to apply for the field that you have the most experience in. All of my work experience is in domestic policy so we'll see what happens! Domestic policy is definitely my cup of tea but I am keeping an open mind to international policy options as well. Definitely hoping for the best for everyone!
  11. I'm asking about non-Harris School based funding opportunities and will share what they say when that comes my way.
  12. Well, all you can do is try. I was lucky to have access to a WWS alum who provided me with some wonderful insights into the program and the application process. When I visited in the fall, I made sure to mention him when I visited with them. Apparently connections there matter somewhat. We're all on tenterhooks and I hope they tell us by the end of this week!
  13. JakeinDC, thanks for that piece of information! Good luck, hope you get into both!
  14. Admitted with no funding. Not likely to attend as the school is so expensive to begin with but going to send the admissions director an email with questions regarding assistantship opportunities. I will let you all know what I find out!
  15. I like that Michigan has international policy options (don't want a hardcore IR degree) and I have found the MPP/MPA discipline to be the best for me personally. I have applied to Indiana, University of Chicago, Berkeley, Carnegie Mellon, Michigan, Princeton, and College of William and Mary. I am still waiting to hear back from Carnegie Mellon, Princeton, and Michigan. I have been accepted to University of Chicago, Indiana, and College of William and Mary. Was rejected from Berkeley.
  16. I have not received any notification one way or the other. I think I am going to call this morning to get a general ETA on this. I will share what I learn this morning.
  17. @gov2school, I can only feel your pain! I also think that I am not likely to be accepted even though it is my number one choice! I also have very strong work experience, good GRE scores, and a good GPA but I don't know if they're going to be good enough. I wish I had been able to get higher grades in undergrad but faced a lot of personal challenges along the way that hindered me from doing as well as I could. I will be crossing fingers for us both!
  18. Weird. I received no such email in regards to an informal interview? I wonder when we're going to hear back from them regarding our decisions. Their website has the unhelpful time frame of "by the end of March".
  19. I also got admitted! Congratulations to everyone! Admitted with no funding so will need to ask questions about possiblity of getting an assistantship.
  20. I got rejected from this school! Best of luck to everyone that got in!
  21. Has everyone already heard back from the CMU MSPPM program? I have heard nothing one way or the other!
