  1. Hi Everyone! I know everyone is on edge right now waiting for their decision letters/emails. Trust me, I was in this same boat 3 years ago when I was living in Seattle and waiting for my decision letters from UW and CSULB. Luckily, I got in to both and chose to move to Long Beach and I graduate in May! I wanted to advertise a job posting for a case manager working with older adults in Orange County. This is a position I used to have and I learned so much from it and was able to apply a lot of what I was learning in school. More than my internships even :-) It's perfect for someone looking to learn about mental health, case management and older adults. It works well for someone in the 3 year MSW program. I was able to work 40 hours my first year in the 3 year program because I didn't need to do my internships yet. Anyway, here is the job description. Good luck to everyone! 2. Iber, Well, the 3-year program was my first choice. I guess you can call me an "older adult" (I am 28 lol). However, I think it will be a good opportunity to be able to work in my case while I am in school. Yes, you only take two classes a semester. However, I think that you don't pay your loans unless you drop to like 6 credits a semester.... I am not sure how the semester schedule works since I come from the quarter system. Anyway, I think it will be great. The 2nd and 3rd year you do your field internship which will be during the day anyway, so I think the only difference would be the in-class experience. Also, I have taken classes with older adults and they are more open and willing to invest their time in projects than the younger students I have had experience with.
  3. By the way, the 3-year program was actually my first choice so it's not like I was not accepted into the 2-year program and got bumped into the 3 year.
  4. Hi guys! I just got an email from CSULB and I was accepted into their 3-year program!!! I was starting to lose hope because I applied right on the deadline and seemed like everyone was getting their responses. It took a while, but I am in now! I am from out of state so I have a big move to plan! Good luck to the rest of you!
  5. Congratulations, Lucyyy19! I applied for the 3 year program as my first choice so I am still hoping there is room and they will give me a spot!
  6. Not me! This is taking WAYYYY too long! I haven't heard anything... not even an email about being put on Pending. Did you get something recently?
  7. Congrats Ardnas058! Can you share when you applied and maybe some of your stats? I applied right before the deadline and have not heard anything except that my application was complete and that it is under review. I have not been put on pending or anything at all. I am hoping to hear soon but I am going crazy! :-( Please let me know when you applied and any other information you may have. Thanks and congrats!
  8. Hi Guys, I applied on Feb 14th to the 3 year program. I have not heard anything at all except that they received my application and it's in review. I know there are people who applied at the same time but have already heard back of either being accepted, rejected or on pending. Is anyone else in the same boat? or does anyone else know if they send out decisions separately or differently for people who applied for the 3-year program instead of the 2-year program? Please let me know! Thank you!
  9. Hmm... I submitted mine about the same time, but haven't heard anything :-( Hoping for the best for all of us!
  10. Iber and Itbys, when did you guys apply?
  11. Hi Iber, Where did you get this information? And any idea how many people applied? Does this total include all the programs (2-year, 3-year, advance standing, etc)?
  12. This is a good topic! I recently got accepted to graduate school at the University of Washington (ranked #3) and I am waiting on a decision from Cal State U Long Beach (ranked #50-#60). My first choice is actually CSLUB, but you never know!
  13. Yay, Emarouk! I got my acceptance email late last night too! I got into the extended evening program, which was my first choice since I work in the day. However, I am still waiting on Cal State U Long Beach. Does anyone know if UW will allow an extension to accept the offer Again, congrats to everyone who got in! I know some people who did not and all I can say is don't give up!
  14. Thanks, Pamaya. I am sure I will found out in the next day or two. Although, I have heard rumors that they send out acceptances first then rejections the following day, so that got my spirits down. I'll keep you guys posted! Wish me luck!
  15. Congrats, A_SouthWest! I applied as well and still waiting for a response. Would you mind if I ask your stats? GPA, work experience, etc?
