  1. Hello all, I'm not very familiar with the American system but I have 29 months after graduation to use for research. Topics like immunology microbiology pathology virology are what I want to focus on, so my question is: where can I look for post bac research positions? Note: I'm majoring in chemistry and biology and my GPA is very competitive. I have also done 2summers of research in plant pathology (microbiology focus) and virology. Thank you.
  2. NSF and all don't offer fundings for international students.
  3. It will take me two more years to become a permanent resident and go to med school, I want to spend that time doing research. phD would take me 5-6 years to complete.
  4. Hello all, Are you familiar with programs that offer FUNDED masters (not phD) in biological sciences ( microbiology, immunology ...etc.) ? Besides Purdue, I don't seem to find any program that offers this. Thank you,
  5. Thanks, I've edited my post.
  6. Hello all, I am looking for advices on universities that I can classify as safe for a phD in pathology/microbiology. my top choices are Harvard, MIT, UC Davis, Purdue, UofMinnesota.... . EDIT: 3.94 GPA double major in biology and chemistry. GRE 167-168-5.5. Research, 7month in microbiology, 1 summer in heart disease, and 1 year in virology. 2 publications (2nd name for both) and around 6 poster presentations (first name). Thanks.
  7. Hello all, So I've been wondering what does it mean to have an interview? I mean is it a typicall interview where you seat and people start asking questions or is it more like a discussion? What kind of questions do they ask? how long and how many people would be interviewing me? I'll be applying for a phD in pathology / microbiology. (Harvard, Yale, UC Davis, Purdue, Ohio, Boston U, MIT, Minnesota...etc. ) Thank you.
